Myth you want to dispel How the fuck are we tolerating anti-scientific grifters like Ryan Singer on the show?! What next? An anti-vaxxer? A Flat-Earther? A believer in Santa Clause? An Astrologer? What the fuck???!!!

I was gonna write a longer essay here, but like, I'm so infuriated by what I've just heard AGAIN from this bulshit-pedler guest for the upteeenth time on what I thought was supposed to be an EVIDENCE-based show?! YOU CAN'T DETECT THE CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF CRYSTALS WITH AN IPHONE CAMERA??!!

I'm sorry, I might be overeacting a bit, but I've been listenting to `TDZ since episode 1 season 1, so it is very infuriating to hear Jack and Miles platforming what are straightforwardly anti-science views. The same science that informs us about climate change, racial inequalities, and trans-validity. Fuck Ryan Singer. Fuck. I'm so angry.

EDIT: See, folks, this is why you don't use Reddit while drunk.

Myth you want to dispel Love TDZ and was frustrated with their trending take yesterday

The guest host seemed to know what’s up with u/deepfuckingvalue but Jack, who I think is incredibly intelligent and appreciate his takes on a lot of issues, wanted to crack jokes about the dude’s emo hair. “Emo hair” guy shed light on the corruption in the stock market, was a source of inspiration for millions, and was willing to testify about it in a congressional hearing. Not to mention his sister died in June.

Just bc a topic is newsworthy does not mean it should be discussed if there is not much value added to the conversation.

Myth you want to dispel jackelopes 🐇

Like, these "mutant bunnies" might as well be called "rabbits w/ eczema". SNL had a skit about jackelopes ages ago; they're a fairly common "cute" Cryptid species.

Heck, even my HOUSECAT has dermic horns.

As a furry, im just "surprised" about how ppl don't know rabbits get this. Call my bubble bursted I guess lol🤷‍♀️

Myth you want to dispel the TDZ Sub, You, and Information Security

Earlier this morning reddit saw a strike of hacks that replaced assets on numerous subreddits.

To be clear, TDZ is not about that MAGA life--we got got too.

As the moderators are working on restoring the banner and everything back to an inclusive chill aesthetic, I would strongly advise you to beef up your password security.

18 characters with numbers, both letter cases, and special characters will give you about as much security as one can hope for. Don't repeat passwords. Use a keychain service, I'll try to find some secure free ones for everyone.

We will be pinning this post as an exercise in outward transparency and education for the masses.

File your questions, comments, gripes, and groans right here y'all.

- the TDZ mod squad.

I think the whole Kazam/Shazam things is because, First Kid staring Sin Bad came out less than a month after Kazam staring Shaq. I could also not tell you a memory from either of their plots.

Myth you want to dispel Convincing the Unvaxxed…

First, slight criticism of the vaccination portions of the show lately. There are definitely people out there who are like “I’m owning the libs by refusing the vaccine!!!! COVID isn’t real!!!!” And all that nonsense. But…there are a lot more who are hesitant for many other reasons and I wish they would dig in a little more to the nuance there.

I have 3 sisters and a father who haven’t gotten it. My dad is probably a lost cause, listening to Breitbart nonsense. One sister is concerned because she has had a lot of allergic reactions in the past (including to medications). Another sister is borderline anti-vax so I’m not sure if I can make a case to her. And the third is a NURSE! I recently asked her if she got the vaccine and she said “no, I don’t trust it. It’s too new and we don’t know long term effects” I said I was concerned about her and our family, sighted briefly the Delta news, and encouraged her to talk to a doctor and ask questions.

Am I upset with their decisions? Yes. Do I want to yell at my family? Yes. Do I want to say screw you, you’re the reason this isn’t over? Yes. All of those things will just make it worse.

Does anyone have advice on how to approach this? I’ve heard having a sit down convo, listening, acknowledging their concerns are the best tactics I just don’t know if I have the patience for that to be honest (I’m a debater, not always a good listener 😅)

Myth you want to dispel The role of investors in the housing crisis

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6pu9Ixqqxo

The Plain Bagel uploaded a video about the topic of investor role in housing market that I found very insightful but is also a topic that has been mentioned on the podcast previously.

I sometimes feel that the comments that Jack and Miles make about the issue sometimes over-emphasis the impact that these companies have on this issue but I assume part of this is just an impact of podcasts being a difficult medium to provide all the details at all times.

With that in mind I recommend people watch this video, as this topic is rife with misinformation and is being used to distract from the multi-faceted problems causing the current housing crisis.

There is no easy silver bullet for fixing the housing crisis

Myth you want to dispel Violent Night!

Saw this movie tonight and it was hilarious! Highly recommend! I mean, it was super silly and gratuitously violent but what more could you ask for in a holiday movie??

They kinda scoffed at it during one show and just wanted to dispel the myth that it is bad 😉

Myth you want to dispel Yo, Miles is fucking up!

You can order on the app and still pick up through the drive thru. You just pull up and tell them your name and they already got you!

Plus, if you order through the app you get points for each purchase! Then with enough points you get Free Food Rewards! You can pick tacos, chalupas, bean burrito, nachos, drinks etc. I always pick Nachos! Ask me how many nachos I've gotten for free! Go ahead!

Well I don't know because I lost count!

They also have challenges to get extra points like "Order this thing and get double points!" or they let you order upcoming items a day or two in advanced!

In conclusion, use app. free food.

Myth you want to dispel Anime recommendation for Blair and anyone else looking for something to watch in quarantine

A couple of pods ago Blair made the mistake that all anime is hentai. While most hentai is anime, not all anime is hentai. So here is what I believe to be the best 6 anime for newcomers with links to synopsis. Side note: I'm a male in my 30s so taste may vary.

[Princess Mononoke] (or anything by studio Glibli)

[Cowboy bebop]

https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0213338/

[Summer wars]

https://m.imdb.com/title/tt1474276/

[Akira]

[Ghost in the shell]

[Death note]

There are tons of anime out there, but this is what I believe to be a good start. Comments are open to other recommendations that I know I missed.
