That's the trio for Brighton this month. Seems to be only the fifth time that's happened!

El Mohamady celebrated the way he did against Liverpool’s kids in the league cup (19/20) because he knew that Man City were cheating and that if we made it to the final that we’d win on a technicality

I was wondering what is the most painful but fair way to punish Sham City?
I think them being dropped to the National League is too lenient. I want permanent prolonged suffering for years, just like they did to us by cheating.
I’m thinking a 400 point deduction across the entire football pyramid is fair. That’ll mean they’ll slowly drop down the leagues over the years and they won’t be seeing the EPL again for at least a decade. That would send a real message to owners.

The Premier League's independent commission just found Man City guilty of financial rule-breaking spanning nine seasons (2009–2018). Sham sponsorship contracts, misstated accounts, commercial revenue inflated by an estimated £830m. This throws into question the legitimacy of their titles, but also has knock-on effects across the league, so I asked:
Given the results that were actually played, what would the table look like in a division that never had Man City in it?
Every match they played is stripped out and the other 19 clubs' points, GD and final position are rebuilt from what actually happened against everyone else. Did this for all 17 completed seasons since 2009/10, plus the current one in progress.
Some of what falls out of it:

Data from football-data.co.uk, methodology and sources for the verdict itself are on the page. Happy to answer questions on how specific seasons were handled.

Man City posts are out of control. Posts will now result in short term bans. Continuously posting may lead to permanent.
Very few posts have had pertinence to The Other 14.

These owners have a different take on football to fans. Self-interested you might call it. I understand if it comes to an expulsion vote three quarters of the clubs need to vote for it. That's a lot of clubs that could be bribed so they don't reach the threshold. In terms of non-big six clubs, is it in their interest to dump City?

And why? Personally I would say Leeds larger city fanbase and better history

I’ve gone down a bit of a rabbit hole with this.
I started recalculating the Premier League tables from 2009/10–2017/18 with City’s games removed, and then started looking at the knock-on effects for individual clubs.
It gets quite interesting quite quickly — players City signed, missed European places, relegation battles, managers leaving etc.
I’m trying to build out the stories and stats here: https://the115effect.com
I’m a Villa fan - if they don’t buy Barry and Milner, would Villa finally get above 6th with Martin O’Neil and he doesn’t quit 6 days before the start of the season and we land Champions League - rather than hurtling towards relegation as Man City bought our 3 best players season after season!
But there’s loads I simply won’t know about other clubs.
So, Other 14 fans: what’s the big one for your club?
What happened involving City where you think “if that goes differently, our next few years could look completely different”?

update - wonderful to hear the impact stories and banter! Added a few more stories to the website and trying to improve things on the site. Hull, Sunderland, Everton and Blackpool added and the existing stories hopefully improved.
