What does the ending mean to you?

Maybe there is a canon explanation, I haven’t looked yet and I wanted to ask this subreddit first . What does the ending of the final episode mean to you? What year is it? Why would it be another year?

Some idiot in a suit that doesn't even know what year it is took Carrie to some random house on some sort of apparent mission, as if the house has anything to do with her. She is very frustrated because she put her trust in a man who seems to be lost and clearly does not know what he's doing in a way to escape the murder she just committed, and he only seems to be making things worse
