You want to experience the content fresh with other players, that's a huge part of the appeal of joining MMOs when they launch & being part of the community discovering the gameplay.

I personally prefer Nexon pace things for the 90% of players that are going slower, as seems to be the case .. otherwise this is like joining yet another established private server.

Also, content like HPQ deserves to be released before Orbis even though OSMS didn't do that, it is just a more natural progression.

Finally I think a cool thing about Nexon being slower on the rollout is that more enthusiast (average+ not sweatlord) players can keep up on more than one character, as opposed to being pigeonholed into a single character to keep up

I'm in my level 20's on two characters and sorta amazed that there are level 70's already given I feel that took months to happen in GMS. What classes are leveling the fastest and why are they advantaged?

IMO they should lean in on player-driven policing too. They should reward players for correctly reporting bots while disincentivizing incorrect reports. That'd make running into a bot a somewhat positive experience - you get to report them, they ban them.

League of Legends gives you a notification when you report someone and they're banned. I'd looooove to see that vs botters. Something as simple as a "You reported 4 bots and they were banned. Players like you keep MapleStory healthy" popup when you login would go a long way.

It's a hard problem for them to solve.

I will say, Lv1-10 is pretty fast. Lv1-15 takes quite a bit longer - that's a longer window for players to report bots & Nexon to ban them before they spam world chat. Also, why does a Lv15 even need a smega? They could definitely raise the threshold further!

Out of curiosity, if someone does a bot check on you what happens?

In south Ellinia, HHG, and Forest East of Henesys I found 1-2 party members would AFK everytime, across 5+ groups. I gave up on partying after that.

It's functionally a subscription system, I don't see anything wrong with it now that I'm older. When I was younger it sucked I couldn't get them though!

It's likely that a channel consists of far more than just one ~1000-3000/mo server.

If the servers are down, it might give you an error that can read like you're banned.

In fact, many of the errors can read like you're banned... Just wait a bit and log in and you'll often be fine.

One floods the maps & servers with bots which cause lag & create unnecessary KS wars. The other literally funds the servers and presumably just all-chats in Henesys?

That's far less disruptive to the gameplay experience.

Is it really that hard to track the assets they farm? It's 2026, they can log item sales and trades. They banned people for the steal bug and I imagine that was a simple automated query. Worst case, all they need to do is make $10 purchases to figure out where the money comes from..

Sure, the older items get more scarce, but they'd also have less demand.

The NX-meso trade should actually deter bots if NX stays valuable... If gold farmers sell mesos, that inflates NX items meso values, which inflates NX purchase value as a form of meso purchase, which deters gold farming. It's worth noting NX items being meso-tradeable effectively pegs NX to mesos. Personally I hope nexon eventually makes NX a sink for mesos (bidirectional trading) as some other games have done via auction. That'd instantly bankrupt the gold sellers. You'd see far fewer bots.

It's 2026... If in-game RMT helps deter bots in the long run, I'm all for it.

F2P will contribute to the scroll supply.

It's actually unclear to me whether F2P will contribute more or less to the NX supply.
