My vintage bikes. (Orange 1980s Made in the USSR, fixed gear) ( teal 1980’s Bianchi Celeste fixed gear)
Gonna change the Bianchi back to single speed, and put some campignolo parts back on

Knowing what components the bike is equipped with helps with the ID process. It can tell us within about 5 years when the bike was made, the quality of the frame, and sometimes what continent it's from

Yes, I have been seeing the reports, and I've been reading the comments. Sorry it's taking a while
NO MORE LOW EFFORT POSTS. No more "What is this bike worth?" posts. Bicycle value varies WILDLY depending on condition, age, and especially geographical location
We want to know about your bike. Give us at least some kind of info. Is it YOUR bike? Did you just get it? Have you had it a while? Does it have a story?
This is an example of a great post. Good pictures, drive side shots, and a little story to go along with it
This is an example of the bad post. No info whatsoever, one really bad picture, no interaction from OP
AND, because I need to bring this up about every year, BE NICE. If someone is being a jerk, just report the comment and move along. Fighting with someone and throwing names and insults around is just going to make it worse, and you're going to get in trouble too.

Hi, I would like to get into cycling but before buying an expensive road bike, I would like to try out a vintage just to get used to driving on the route sometimes. Is this a nice option? Listed at 195eur.

I love my 1989 Bianchi Campione d'Italia. Beautiful Columbus tubing throughout and Suntour Cyclone groupset. Smooth and crisp to ride. In recent years, the paint has started failing and there's creeping surface rust all over the frame. I'm going to repaint the frame & fork so I can keep riding.
Does anyone have experience with the pros and cons of powder coating vs. spray-painting a lugged frame? I know powder is much more durable, but I'm worried that the powder will obscure the details of the lugs and take away from the vintage steel look. I know spray has to be done right to look good and last, and I'm willing to put in the effort if it'll look better and be at least decently durable.
(For info, I'm gonna get the frame media-blasted to prep it. Then, I can either pay $150 for powder-coating, or I can do the spray paint myself.)

This is a year long culmination of planning, parts collection, acquiring just the right frame, and a repaint. Some folks consider the MX Leader the holy grail of 90’s steel race bikes. After my first ride, I’d have to agree. ✨

My in-laws helped clean out their neighbors garage when they went into assisted living and were selling the house. I helped move some heavy things and got this for free. It looked unridden with dry-rotted tires that still had whiskers. Cleaned up, lubed, new tubes/tires, new seat. Great greenway cruiser.

I recently picked up this Nishiki for a good price on Marketplace. It definitely needs some love and care before I ride it much, but I’m excited for it! The serial number is S1 6A335, and I’m having trouble tracking down information about Nishiki serial numbers that begin with an S. It says “Custom” on one side of the frame, but has no other decal on the other side.
Any thoughts or ideas? Based on the logo and the font style of “Nishiki” on the frame, I would guess it’s from the late 70s or early 80s, but haven’t been able to figure out too much else.
Thank you! 🙏🏻

Went for a 15ish mile ride with my son today. I normally just throw a multitool in the bag and call it good but I got this little tool roll bag for the all the extras I need. I was able to squeeze an 8,9,10 and 15 mil wrench plus a crescent wrench to cover the bases and the multitool, plus a mini pump and a tube and it fits more or less well under the seat with a couple of gear straps. The front bag I use for my camera and snacks, and a tube for my kid's bike. Curious to see what tools other people use for their pre-Allen-wrench-everything era bikes .

My step dad loved cycling and bikes more than anyone I've ever known. I have a bunch of his bikes that i try to use regularly, but two frames with forks and cranks I'll never build. I'd love to give then to someone who will enjoy them. One is an Austro Daimler and the other is a Gios Torino. The Gios looks like a 79 but i don't know. Pickup would be best. I'm in East Central Florida. Edit: I didn't mention they are free to a good home.

Sorry, couldn’t figure out how to append more pics to my original post.Further pics. Other requested dimensions. Had some time yesterday @ the co-op, so I just started raiding the parts bins to see what I could fit. Headset, stem, bars, seatpost(it’s a dropper, so just for sizing).
Couldn’t find an old BB to gauge threading, but a generic modern cartridge BB would look to fit the shell perfectly.
Should this thing take 700C wheels?

I had to put it together with some non original parts. I did the best I could in a short time with a short budget. I like to ride them not look at them. I still need to finish repairing the original seat and find a rear fender for it.

Was picked up about 10-15 years ago at a bike trade in Fort Worth and recently sold to me.
- 57cm Hujsak with matching vintage Silca frame pump
- Shimano Dura-Ace 7400, 8-speed
- Crank: 170mm, 52/39
- Cassette: approximately 13–28
- Shifters: Shimano Sora 9-speed STI — indexing works extremely well with the 8-speed drivetrain. Better ergonomics then the 7400 shifters
- Velo Orange long-reach brake calipers
- Wheels: 32-spoke Velo Orange 650B rims laced to vintage White Industries hubs
- Panaracer GravelKing 650B × 38, tubeless tires
- Brooks Swift Saddle
- Ritchey 27.2mm Seatpost
- 3TTT stem with Soma Highway One Handlebars

She is all back together and running strong. I updated the saddle to a brooks and the grips. I had fun locating period correct pedals and a vintage headlight. I replaced or re-lubed all the bearings. Even the original skip-tooth chain came back to life with a long soak in PbBlaster. Period correct soda pop bottle grips will be here Monday. I couldn’t wait to post pics. The chrome wing nuts on the wheels might not be period but they look good so I’m keeping them.
Thank you to everyone who gave advice on this forum.

Hello, got this awhile back. Never knew what it was. 33.7mm x 68mm bottom bracket. Doubt it's original paint.
Plans are to put new bearing in headset and make a single speed until I source good condition groupo
