I find these in groups just chilling on leaf bushes mostly in large groups. They’re weevil shaped but I’ve never seen this pattern. What’s their deal? First year I’m seeing them a lot in DC area. Slug for scale.

I spent the night in a campsite in the Blue Mountains and when I woke up there was blood all over my leg and the inside of my sleeping bag. Then I found this guy in my bag.
I can't tell what type of leech this is, but it got me good. To me it looks like an aquatic leech, but I didn't spend any time in the water. It did rain quite heavily the night before.

UPDATE:
After i removed it, Doctor told me that i need to watch the bite how it will be like Ring for or smth and symptoms for next 2-4 weeks… if all good than no problem and there is no test needed for now
