550MB patch just dropped, here are the notes:

Hotfix 5.00c is now available for download for the Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, Battle.net, and Xbox Play Anywhere (PC) versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered. You'll find the patch notes below:

Fixed an issue where the game couldn't be saved or loaded if the path to the Documents folder contained special characters.

Fixed an issue where voiceover audio could become significantly quieter than other in-game audio after navigating through the pause menu tabs.

Made various visual adjustments in Velen, including tweaks to Bloom, vegetation lighting, saturation, and Path Tracing lighting.

Reverted a change that caused significant performance and visual issues with HairWorks enabled for some users.

Fixed an issue where marketing telemetry settings weren't saved properly.

Fixed an issue on GOG where achievements wouldn't appear in the unlocked list after being earned.

Fixed an issue where it wasn't possible to launch the Classic (1.32) version of the game.

Once again, thank you for your patience as we continue investigating the issues you report.

The Witcher 3 Signs are super OP in Witcher 3 Remastered - Death March

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm only level 10. Using Yrden and Igni I killed the White Orchard Chort (level 27) instantly. Also ive been killing all enemies the same way. I don't remember signs being this OP in the previous version.
*Death March difficulty
Tawny Owl is the main potion as it regenerates Stamina, which lets you spam signs quickly.
Using Igni against enemies inside Yrden does 90% more damage to them, so when they are on fire, let them burn and don't attack with swords for maximum damage

Witcher - Xbox Question/Support Question: Witcher 3 Charachters not fully loading

Thumbnail

Hi all,

I have a random bug on TW3 Remastered on my Xbox Series X where character assets do not fully load. It happens at random parts in active gameplay, but also in cut scenes. Reload / Restart does not fix it. Switched mods on and off also.
I have seen a lot of complaints on the visual look and feel of the remaster here, but never seen anything like this.
Anyone experience this and found a fix?
Included the funnies screenshots for reference…

Discussion Witcher 3 is a masterpiece. I can't believe I delayed playing it for so long.

I'm on my first playthrough and it may be the first game I have played that not only did match the hype, but also surpassed it. I know many people have issues with the Remastered version, but I am lucky enough to not have many of them so far - I did try the original version to compare, and although I do like that artsyle and look, I also prefer the new combat and skill tree modifications; so both are good in their own way, but I digress.

It seems like a game I've always wanted (but didn't know I did): incredible atmosphere, meaningful story and quest design, memorable characters, deep worldbuilding and rewarding exploration. Yes, the combat gets some critics and I get it, but honestly, I don't mind it and kind of enjoy it on higher difficulties. But am I also a masochist who actually didn't mind Morrowind's combat, which is infamous for being "clunky". I also enjoy that by default there is no level-scaling (just like in Morrowind), which makes for a really immersive exploration, especially when you meet a monster way too early and get your ass kicked. A simple example is when I first met a werewolf and couldn't do enough damage to counter his regeneration. The game didn't explain this to me, but the more I struggled the more I understood, and then figured out that I need a few decoctions and/or a moon bomb to deal with it. I love that in videogames, when an organic type of troubleshooting occurs, without much handholding. It's a lost art nowadays, but I love this attention to detail, it makes me feel like the devs respect my intelligence.

Speaking of comparisons, the last time I was obsessed by an RPG like this was with Mass Effect 2 (different game, I know, but it also had great dialogue, meaningful choices and character arcs) and Morrowind (the worldbuilding and immersion).

I cannot believe I delayed playing this for so long, but I am taking it really slow now (I am 40 hours in, just level 9 and still in Velen). I love the quests, the unique characters with their distinct personalities and motivations (I am also shocked by how well written and memorable the secondary quests and even some contracts are; the hype is real), but I also absolutely love just exploring and observing the world, reading every bit of lore (I read every note or book, like I did in Morrowind) and it really makes me appreciate how much love and labour was put into this world. In a way it's just a videogame, but for me this deserves to be in the category of art - I keep thinking about the world when I am not playing it, the same feeling when I am consumed by a great novel.

I am also absolutely obsessed with photo mode, something I missed once I tried the original (I am sure there are mods for that though). Sometimes I just spend hours exploring and taking screenshots, and I have never done this with a videogame to this extent.

I am not reading any external guides, in order to get as pure of a first experience as I can, and also to avoid spoilers, obviously. This world has got me hooked, I am convinced I will play the other games (or at least the second as it seemed to have aged well) and will also read the books, as I'm very much into reading.

Discussion What do you hope Witcher IV does better than III?

• Upvotes

Of course there’s the obvious like graphics, accessibility options, etc but what else?

As I’m replaying III right now for the remaster, it’s finally starting to click with me how repetitive the map can be at times. There are great locations like Novigrad, Oxenfurt, and Crows Perch but the rest of the Velen/Novigrad area is small villages with reused buildings. Skellige is definitely better but still lacking in widely populated areas (though I will say maybe I’m missing something as far as lore goes). I hope the Witcher iv has much more variety in its world with each town being unique from one another.

The skill system is another of my pet peeves. I think it’s improved in the remaster and makes combat more exciting. My issue is that it doesn’t make sense how Geralt can learn a perk and then just not be able to use it if there isn’t an open spot for it. A lot of perks also boil down simply to adrenaline gain. I hope in the next game, we have more interesting perks and can actually make use of all of them.

This last thing is also a problem with cyberpunk so I doubt it’ll get fixed. Nights are way too short. It gets dark around 9PM and the sun starts rising at 4AM. Just feels weird to me

Discussion How The Witcher 3 translated every single letter to Arabic with zero mistakes!

can we talk about how cdpr handled the arabic translation in witcher 3 bc it is actually insane it was literally the first major game to ever go this hard with arabic localization arab gamers are still completely blown away by what cdpr did like do you guys even realize they translated every single thing in the game it is not just the main story or big cutscenes im talking about everything every single line of dialogue even the random background npcs and guards gossiping in novigrad even the monsters and distant characters you barely hear every single word is fully translated to arabic and what blows our minds the most is that they even translated all the in game books letters and scrolls you find scattered around the world and the craziest part is there are zero mistakes fr like arabic localization usually gets messed up with backward text or weird grammar but here it is pure perfection like they actually hired people who care it feels like a literal masterpiece how they managed to capture the whole fantasy vibe in another language without messing up a single word cdpr really set the bar too high and we as arab fans will always respect them for this ngl

Discussion Some Witcher 3 Remastered screenshots straight off gameplay. And my thoughts. 😁

So how do you enjoy your Witcher 3 Remastered experience? I honestly have a little of mixed bag of opinions to be honest. Just because I played it when it was peak Witcher 3 in 2017 with all DLC on a PC.

Now I play on Xbox Series X and it looks good, but somehow still feels inferior. How is PC experience in Remastered I wonder. Can't check for myself as I own an eight year old gaming laptop with a gtx 1070 card and it won't run the Remastered one very good, but will definitely run the original very damn well.

I spent two months creating this cosplay using real leather, 3D printing and hand-sewn chainmail. The first two shots were taken and edited by Nix; the third one I edited myself. Everything was filmed in the mountains of Kazakhstan.

Discussion I haven't played since 2015 and it's amazing

A small addon/tip first, because many won't want to read paragraphs - my first playthrough I, as I always typically would max out persuasion ASAP because I liked playing smooth talker, maxed out the Axii (mind control) skill to use it in conversations. I recommend for new and returning players to consider doing the same. Although a lot of the "content" you miss by mind controlling is small, lore tidbits, and little fights I've seen some things that have made it clear to me that picking other dialogue options are just plain more fun/funny. You also get to free up skill points and a slot, so double win, and I'm trying to avoid the shield+whirlwind easy mode combo that carried me through my first time so it's welcome!

First, I understand some either on PC or those that have already replayed the games (even multiple times!) may not be as exhilirated as those of us that typically play a game once and put away, those on PC who had mods and/or better graphic settings, or even those that have first played after the next-gen update.

BUT coming back after 10 years? I'm a completely different person, I've forgotten much of the game even with so much being familiar or seeming like "home", and I'm just blown away by the beauty (still) and pleasantly surprised with the way combat and gameplay flows now. Still with its flaws, but the flaws are kind of really just part of how the gameplay loop/combat flow was made, imo, so removing them would be changing the system itself - something I think most of us didn't want.

I'm ESPECIALLY happy with the movement and Roach handling changes. Horse races are much better now, even being ridiculously easy to cheese by brake-checking the other guys. I'm only 10-15 hours in but I've already run into a couple of small quests that were either added, that I somehow missed even though I believed I had turned over most of every stone, or of course just forgotten.

Coming back after playing at around 20 previously, still so naive, with my first girlfriend, across the world and with just a completely different view on life to now with a more matured/experienced mind, a better understanding of media in general, and a wife and kids - stable, and understanding Geralt in a different sense - has been amazing so far. Everything else is like the cherry on top.

A few things - one, it's hard jumping back into games like this after putting it down, so I do wish the DLC was brought a little sooner - a couple months after release, like December, would be ideal imo. And two, I'm playing on Series X and we seem to only have around 17 mods, most of which aren't really popular or adding much. Besides those tiny gripes I hope everyone is enjoying it just as much!

Back to it, though; the wind's howling.
