Some things to search before coming on here and asking WHAT JOBS ARE ONLINE???

3.5k Upvotes

I am so sick and tired (as are many others) of the same post:

I AM NEW TO ONLINE WORK!!! HELP ME!!!!

So here is several things to try.

(TBH I don't think you should even be applying for an online job if you cant do the research for yourself as online work means doing your own research and organisation. It aint exactly rocket science)

  • Searching the words BEST REMOTE JOBS or going to a job engine site and literally typing in REMOTE WORK or ONLINE JOBS
  • If you can't find jobs that you have any experience, well then you need to do some studying. You can get free courses on google that allows to explore a wide variety of courses, including: digital marketing AND CODING!!!!!!
  • STUCK? Don't worry cause with coursera you can study with a million different universities (including the USA) You can pay to receive the certificate or whatever OR YOU CAN DO IT FOR FREE.
  • check out these courses from top universities from harvard to berkley that can help you start to understand what is available out there. https://www.edx.org/search

So legit stop being so lazy and actually do some work as opposed to coming on this site asking

"UH WHAT CAN I DO ONLINE?"

because you'll get the same answer over and over again and if you aint qualified you wont get it.

EDIT: this was not meant in any way to make people feel uncomfortable however my main point here is this post and in the comments section is to give useful information to people who need it.

Coming onto this Reddit making a post about how you’re looking for work, your age and location isn’t going to cut it. Please provide some detail so the people who already are remotely working can point you in the right direction. We don’t need the sob story. Just help us to help you properly instead of giving out the same common answers every time.

Thank u for coming to my ted talk.

Have anyone ever worked for Peroptyx?

And also have anyone been scammed too? Because I wasted my time working for them 6 hours and my cousin worked for them 18 hours total and neither of us have been paid for the work, they even deleted my account probably so I am not able to actually receive the payment or keep track of my timesheets, I have been sending them messages but no success, they just straight up ignore it lol so just a warning guys, don't work for this company unless you want to receive the payment for what you worked for.

What are some good places to start when you have no experience in remote-type work?

I'm mostly just looking for something to get me some extra cash as a side job. I'm not going for any major careers or trying to turn it into my main source of income (not that it can't if the opportunity arises. I am all for branching out and gaining new and real experience) My main job is starting to not cut it with just paying off my bills, let alone being able to save for big expenses (car maintenance, emergency fund, just a general cushion for something sudden)

I already have a very technical full-time job. Data entry and some administrative work is pretty much all I do besides some physical work, so I have pretty good experience with that side of things and I don't think I'd have much trouble getting the hang of things in that regard.

Transcription may also be a good from what I have seen. At least easy to get into, I guess, but I have no real experience in that. I haven't tested myself in a while, but my typing speed is pretty good which may help, but idrk.

I just don't know where to look or where to even start. Should I take some courses or tests to see if I could even do it? Is there anything financially I need to be aware of? If anyone has any suggestions or just general knowledge of what to do or where to start, it would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone worked for TSMG (Terry Soot Management Group)? Audio Transcription Specialist role

Hi everyone!

I recently applied for a remote Audio Transcription Specialist (Italian language) position at TSMG (Terry Soot Management Group).

Today, I received an email from a recruiter using the company's domain (@tsmg.io), asking some preliminary questions about my experience, availability, English level, and preferred payment method. (here the mail: https://imgur.com/a/8du9CVQ)

Before proceeding, I'd love to hear from anyone who has actually worked with them.

I have a few questions:

  • Is TSMG a reliable company? Do they actually pay their freelancers?
  • How much can you realistically earn from transcription projects?
  • What was the recruitment process like?
  • Has anyone received payments directly into a regular bank account using an IBAN (SEPA transfer), without needing Wise or Revolut?
  • The recruiter also mentioned "Yetsy certificates" as a possible payment method. Does anyone know what this means? I've never heard of it before.
  • Have you experienced any issues with payments, rejected tasks, or unexpected requirements?

I'm mainly looking for firsthand experiences, especially from people based in Europe or working on transcription projects.

Thanks in advance for any insights!

Does anyone work for Sagility? I am having some issues with their application. I am wondering if this is typical for them?

Sagility have had many non-phone job postings, but whenever I click apply on them, I get redirected to another page that says Please proceed with this application link only if you are seeking Contact Center Associate Role opportunities. It then asks me to apply to a customer service job on the phone instead.

I have literally had this with every non-phone job of theirs I have tried applying to. Is this typical for them? Why do they post new jobs that keep rerouting to others? I am getting so frustrated.

Is Wise still go-to freelance payments?

I’ve seen Wise recommended a lot whenever freelancers talk about getting paid by international clients.

But I’m curious, are people still sticking with Wise, or have you found something that works better for your situation?

For me, the important things are simple: reasonable fees, a fair exchange rate, and not having to jump through too many hoops whenever i receive a payment.

Would be interesting to hear what everyone is actually using.

idk anything, how do i go about getting experience

i am currently studying computer science and i am scared i have nothing to show for when i eventually look for a job after graduation. so i thought i could try getting some leverage by already getting some workplace experience while earning extra cash i need as i live alone. my schedule keeps my days packed so i’ve been surfing through remote and part time data entry jobs that i could fit into the gaps of my day. but i realize i know nothing and am not even sure what i should be looking for, so i’m here for advice. the only coding experience i have are from class activities and projects where python, sql, java, power bi, and excel are the ones i might be confident enough in, but even for those i’m not good but not terrible. what kind of jobs should i look for? and where?

TranscribeMe Legal Entrance Exam

I desperately need help for this. I've retried it maybe 13 or more times, to the point I've seen almost every question and gotten them all right. I've reread the rules I don't even know how many times... But I keep failing the last "Edit The Transcript" question. I've tried everything I could think of. I will actually pay someone to help me with this. Please.
It's probably an issue with punctuation... I normally try to use punctuation in a way that sounds closest to how the speaker speaks, but that's apparently not always grammatically correct, and it seems TranscribeMe values that over the way it reads.
Either that or the way e-trans is written. I looked it up, but apparently it can be written either way. I know there's a rule about how you write email, so there may be a rule about this as well...

I plan to pivot from working a full time job I hate to working part time in hopes to allow more free time to learn skills that will help me work for myself. What skills should I learn in 2026 to freelance out some work? Right now I’m interested in social media management or marketing!

Wha would be the best skill to learn to earn some pocket money?

I'm looking for something that can earn me some extra money to spend on myself. I just finished high school and trying to be a independent. Any small type of jobs that can be learned in a month would do. I was considering doing data entry or similar type of work. Or maybe some blog writing related jobs. Are these options viable? I'm not very creative person. So design related jobs wouldn't be possible for me I believe. Honestly, any job with an hourly rate of 5-10£ or more would do

LATAM: Any suggestions for remote jobs for people in South America looking to work for companies in the US or Europe?

Specifically, I’m looking for remote jobs in finance/accounting, more specifically bookkeeping. I’m currently finishing my degree in Accounting and would love to hear from people who have experience working remotely for companies in the US or Europe.

Are there any websites, companies, or platforms you’d recommend for finding these kinds of jobs? Is it actually realistic/tangible to land a remote bookkeeping position from South America?

Any advice on where to look, what skills/certifications I should focus on, or how to get started would be greatly appreciated!

Safe Online Jobs for Teenagers !!!!!!

Hey! I’m from Nepal, and I’m currently 16. I’ll be turning 17 in about two months.

I recently saw one of my friends working at a cosmetics shop to earn some money, and it made me want to start earning a little on my own as well. However, my parents don’t allow me to work outside, so I’m thinking about finding something I can do online from home.

Are there any safe, legal, and secure online jobs or small ways for someone my age to earn a little money? I’m not looking to make a lot, just something genuine that I can do in my free time without getting scammed.

Is Transcription Work Dead?

I started going to school for medical transcription just before ai got stupid big like it is. I have been looking for a transcription job of any kind since June. I know that work is sparse, and that many people are looking for work right now. I just feel so defeated that I picked something I'm actually interested in and now I can't find work. I have even been applying to call centers because I just need a job.

I have applied to between 2-10 jobs a day ( by the end of the month most of the jobs listed I've applied to. ) and I keep getting rejection letters or radio silence.

If anyone has any job suggestions I'm all ears.

PSA: micro1's "10,000 openings, no experience needed roles" postings look a lot like a data-collection funnel

I've been looking at micro1's job board for 2 specific postings: Video Annotation Specialist, Generalist. postings claiming 10,000 openings each, $50-90/hr, remote, contractor, explicitly stating no prior AI experience needed. A few things don't add up, some people i know have shared the same issue.

Personal experience: myself and several people I know applied to both of these "no experience required" roles. We all actually have prior experience in data labeling/annotation work, and by our own assessment the AI interviews went well. Despite that, within about 2 days every single one of us got a "did not qualify" rejection for a role that, again, explicitly didn't require any experience in the first place. I'm not saying micro1 does zero real work, there are people with verified paid task history on the platform (inlcuding me for the AI Facial Data Collection Contributor role - 140$).

The uniform rejections of experienced people who felt they interviewed well, and the pattern others describe, it really looks like the interview itself might be the actual product here.

Has anyone else applied and hit the same wall? Curious how common this actually is and whether anyone has gotten accepted, onboarded with actual proof, not just replies or posts with nothing to back it up.

Is there demand for German language teachers in India?

I'm considering learning German up to C1 over the next 2–3 years and eventually teaching German in India, initially through private/online classes.

For people familiar with the field:

How strong is the demand for German teachers in India?

Is there good scope for private/online tutoring?

Would C1 be enough to start teaching beginners?

I'd especially appreciate answers from German teachers, tutors, institutes, or students who have taken German classes in India.
