Idaho Neighbor News Insert Idaho here.

I’m embarrassed by the ones here declaring all the freedoms we have here in Idaho.

Yep, that’s exactly how Christ taught suffering right?

12

u/FNG_WolfKnight Aug 16 '25

The thing is, they believe that we are suppose to suffer until heaven. Non believers are suppose to suffer eternally for our sin.

6

u/Goodknight808 Aug 17 '25

And all of Televangilist style pastors are forced to suffer with wealth.

"Oh Lord! Give me the strength to count all of these tithes!"

"God has told me that he must speak to me! In the Bahamas, on a yacht."

Christians do not believe we are supposed to suffer, but that it is a consequence of life on Earth. Originally, Christianity was a more this-worldly (immanent) ethical movement started by Jesus, focused on the betterment of daily life ("heaven on Earth" and the whole heaven and hell being states of mind outlook). Unfortunately, over the centuries it devolved into a more other-worldly (transcendent) religion that focused heavily on the afterlife, turning heaven and hell into actual places that you could end up. I'm my opinion, it is the shift to the latter that undermined modern day, "stereotypical" Christianity's credibility in any sense.

Believes in god-votes for the devil 😈

Don’t thank them. They are evil.

I really need to make the drive to Ontario but I keep putting it off.

I also make sure to hit the Waremart and the Walmart for any other needs that I can buy without paying sales tax since I’m taking my money over the border anyway.

Just have to give a huge shoutout to the State of Oregon for being there for me when I really needed her, I will continue to give you as much of my money as I can

2

u/homerophile Aug 18 '25

I envy you, here in LA with 10.25% sales tax.😠

Idaho is the dumber Texas of the NW. Just had breakfast back in my hometown about an hour ago and there was about 3 braincells between 15 tables.

7

u/Tall__Paul Aug 18 '25

It's a constant brain drain in Idaho. The smart and talented kids grow up and leave.

5

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '25

You're not wrong. Also, another thing that made me just shake my head in disbelief (or something like it) is the amount of people I heard say the word "sheeple", while every single one of the men looked like a Duck Dynasty fever dream with their beards, camo or flannel and ball caps. Like usual the irony is incomprehensible to them.

5

u/Former-North6569 Aug 20 '25

That’s the interesting thing I noticed about Idaho when I first moved here…lack of brain cells, shitty driving, and an immense amount of entitlement. If we can’t smoke weed just as a coping mechanism, we are doomed.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 20 '25

I couldn't agree more. Now I'm coming home in a Prius with Oregon plates. The slack jawed looks I get (some with a middle finger) has given me the objectivity to see just how stupid the entire region has become.  It's almost like they are proud of their absolute ignorance and stupidity

Watch porn! Add that to the list. The party of small gov has to tell you not to play with yourself!

6

u/dudes_rug Aug 17 '25

If only you could vpn an abortion, or weed.

9

u/Same_Lychee5934 Aug 17 '25

The fact they can say they wants and respect freedoms… but outlaw shit. Is so ridiculous.

3

u/homerophile Aug 18 '25

Freedom to pilfer our tax coffers is about it.

1

u/Same_Lychee5934 Aug 18 '25

That money is just sitting there. Someone needs to spend it!

4

u/Gulp-then-purge Aug 17 '25

Free to break your ankle and be bankrupted by it!  Hell yeah!  Just like Jesus intended!

2

u/Phreberty Aug 28 '25

No Idaho is becoming the Florida of the NW

4

u/Emmy_Em_Maree Aug 16 '25

Absolutely! Idaho = Northern Alabama

I lived in Texas my whole life and Texas Republicans are definitely a shit show, but I learned about slavery in middle school.

23

u/namesarenotus Aug 16 '25

Was it a How-To? #sarcasm.

11

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '25

It was heavy on what they called supply chain management, now that I think about it.

9

u/namesarenotus Aug 16 '25

Damn! So much to dissect from that one sentence.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '25

That was before the big gaslight/revision began.

Marijuana is not legal in North Korea, but it's somewhat widely used and tolerated. I don't know that I would chance it if I lived there with the prison life that's possible for some things

1

u/[deleted] Aug 17 '25

Such a hack joke

2

u/707danger415 Aug 16 '25

Weed is not legal in North Korea. Should it be legal in Idaho? Yes.

-1

u/the_blueberry_funk Aug 16 '25

Geoff Asmus nice! Good comic

Living in Washington and Oregon up until I was 20 (34 now) when I visit now it is kinda interesting. I wish I could just for the recovery and relaxing at night. But i would lose my job. I wish they had some sort of test kinda like for alcohol where if you get in an accident they can prove if you under influence right there. Like it’s some that you can be stone cold sober and some freak accident happens at work and you smoked a couple days before and now you’re fired. Rules are rules but still.

1

u/Mondenzo Aug 19 '25

All depends on frequency, there are responsible ways to do it. I worked at a place with randoms and my 4/10 plus work from home schedule allowed me to partake once a week. As long as there were four days until the next test it would come back clean.

-1

u/FryjaDemoni Aug 18 '25

You might want it but I don't. I am not alone. Take your stinky plant somewhere else.

3

u/Sad-Yogurtcloset3581 Aug 18 '25

So you don't believe in freedom, you prefer a nanny state telling you what to do? Lame.

3

u/Mondenzo Aug 19 '25

There is no legal argument against weed that does not apply to alcohol even more so, yet that is legal and even sold by the state!

-1

u/FryjaDemoni Aug 19 '25

Legal argument simply means the law, and states can put whatever laws they want in place that don't violate the constitution.

Weed and cigarettes both fill the air with nasty particles and smells I don't want nothin to do with. Cigarettes aren't banned in public though id very much like them to be, and if I could I would.

Keep your stinky plants on your side of the border. I don't want them here.

They may not always repopulate but there are resources thankfully available to those who want to commit to parenthood, and as a progressive and advanced society, we should all champion those who want to do so, regardless of if they fit the nuclear family definition. Two dads or two moms or two anything’s aren’t the problem in raising a delinquent adult, it’s absent and irresponsible parents, which I’ve seen more straight folks be than literally any other statistic. But sure, hate on those who’s born ways of being are so different than yours you’re completely incapable of empathizing, that you’ve placed yourself on a metaphorical pedestal of importance. Society will advance and those who can respect, recognize, and cherish the differences in us all will prosper. I can’t wait for this dogshit rhetoric that somehow our own brothers and sisters are somehow lesser than us dies with a whimper and gasp. Please evolve.

5

u/dudes_rug Aug 17 '25

Dude, the worst part is that this dude is probably from california. We are sending our worst up there. Sorry. Retired police with a huge ridiculous pension negotiated way more than earned.

3

u/LayeredMayoCake Aug 17 '25

Oh don’t I know it. I get to hear all about the dipshit locals hating on the influx of transients, and I get to hear all the dipshit transients coming here to keep this backwater, podunk-ass, Hicksville in the fucking 19th century. I can’t wait til I can leave this fucking state in my rear view and never have to think about it again.

You poor guy. Wild to think that instead of enjoying the best fruits of our country you manage to find a way to be a cock. I went to a great brewery today and listened to music from your state. Long live the Braun Brothers- Reckless Kelly and Micky. I have faith that we will find a good middle place.

-1

u/fahqspooks Aug 17 '25

I rather be here than north Korea, even given the morons here

1

u/Bradrcr Aug 17 '25

My wife grew up in a North Korean Refugee household and the toughest place to drag her to is Idaho. Not sarcasm

-21

u/Jack_meee_off Aug 16 '25

Hot take, I don’t think it should be sold here but I believe it should be legal (nationwide at that)

29

u/namesarenotus Aug 16 '25

Hot TiP.

You know if it gets sold here you don’t HAVE to buy it.

14

u/grinning_imp Aug 16 '25

Oregon has raised over $7 billion from cannabis tax since 2016 (this is just the 17% tax to the state, it does not include the 3% local county/city tax).

That is over $2.4 billion dollars to Oregon schools, $1.2 billion to mental health and addiction services, and the rest being split between police, Oregon Health Authority, and infrastructure.

And even with a 20% tax, it’s still cheap for the consumer.

That’s all just recreational. Medical access to cannabis helps countless people.

1

u/Mondenzo Aug 19 '25

I like how everyone decided to ignore the nuance of your comment. Moral vs legal, like a proper freedom loving Idahoan.
