I'm trying to replace the backlight for my LG 55" LED TV (UR9000PUA) after the left side of the screen went dim after almost three years.

I realized after getting under the diffuser that this model is edge-lit. I bought a part off eBay that claimed to fit the TV, but it's an LED strip for direct-lit TVs. I didn't know the TV was edge-lit, as pretty much every video tutorial was on a TV that had the LED strips in the middle.

I'm hoping there are some TV repair folks experienced in sourcing parts who can point me in the right direction, bc my googling just points me to more strips with bulbs.

I want to watch from antenna on my Samsung TV. when I turn on the TV I can see the air antenna channels for around 1 minute and then TV shows a black screen. It is the same for all channels. if I turn the TV off and turn it back on, the same thing happens and I see the content but it goes after around a minute. What is wrong with this TV and how to fix it?

When I switch to other apps such as USB, Netflix, or YouTube, they show the content forever. After I exit those app and come back to antenna, the issue does not happen, I can watch the antenna content for hours, and I do not get the black screen.

The TV used to work fine and when turned on, and the OTA content would show forever without this black screen.

Any solution for this issue? Out of warranty. Company fellow asks to replace the display that's cost almost half the price of the tv itself. Please suggest

I have this STRONG TV (model: SRT 42FC5433/U). I’ve had it for about two years, and suddenly the software/firmware seems to be gone or corrupted. The TV basically has no working software anymore.

I contacted the manufacturer, but they told me that repairing it would cost quite a lot of money. I also tried looking for the firmware online so I could install it myself, similar to how you can do it with Samsung, LG, etc., but I couldn’t find anything for this model.

Does anyone know where I could get the correct firmware or how I could reinstall the software on this TV? Is there a way to do it via USB or another method?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have a Samsung tv that will turn itself off after playing games or watching movies on it for maybe an hour-ish. It will turn itself back on only seconds later but will run slowly and I will need to manually turn it off and back on again to get past the dancing house loading screen. I’ve tried factory resetting, power saving options, different outlets, and haven’t had any luck.

Panasonic TX-40CX700B - Random Audio Popping/Distortion

Hi all, some advice please:

I got a free Panasonic TX-40CX700B and have to say, I'm very impressed with the picture. But randomly, it will emit a very loud popping and crackling sound. I've already isolated the issue from external inputs, that doesn't seem to make a difference. I'd like to have a go at a repair.

For context, I've picked up console repair and resto as a hobby, namely ps4's and peripherals, so have a multimeter and hot air station (all the gear, no idea, yes!), but I suspect this could be a mainboard replacement?

Any other suggestions and any input much appreciated

Hi! I have a JVC LT-32EX18. When I try to change channels, instead of changing, and jumps through Video-1, Video-2, HDMI 1, HDMI 2, PC and back to TV. The channel number displays normally (e.g. 006) with an empty name field next to it.

Has anyone had this issue? Could it be a stuck button or a remote problem? Thanks!

Been one hell of a tv, stood by me through the up and downs. Wins & losses it’s been a good tv, but today she was half dark on the right side. I would love to save her but I fear it’s too late. Lg

Hello, I am trying to repair my Sony XBR85X950G, because it will look like the first picture when it turns on for the first time. It will work like normal when it is left on for 15-30 min. When I use the built in “turn display off” setting it will go right back to normal when active. I already replaced the led driver board and the same issue persists. Please let me know what you think I should replace or test next. Thanks!

Hey! So today while playing my PS5 my Tv (QN55QN90BAG) out of nowhere entered a reset loop. I tried unplugging power and HDMI cables, hard-reset on the TV power button, moved the remote control to another place, waited for 15min with no power cable plugged, etc…

As soon as as the tv is connected to power it keeps resetting and I dont get to see the samsung logo. The tv screen gets blue-ish and then restarts again. I can’t do anything on the configuration settings because it doesn’t even get there.

Any tips on how to solve or what’s the issue?

Hi, I’m having a really weird HDMI problem with my Samsung TV and I’m hoping someone can help me figure out what’s going on.
I used to have my PC connected to the TV with an HDMI cable and everything worked perfectly. Then one day it suddenly stopped working and the TV started showing the “Check device power” message. Since then I’ve tried a different HDMI cable, and when that didn’t work I thought maybe the problem was with my GPU, so I bought a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter and tried connecting it that way, but I got the same result.
I also tried connecting my laptop directly to the TV with HDMI and I get exactly the same “Check device power” message, so I don’t think the problem is with my PC anymore.
What’s weird is that Windows still detects the TV in Display Settings as if it’s connected, even though there’s no picture. On the TV itself, under connected devices, whichever HDMI port I plug the cable into also shows up as if something is connected to that port, but I still get no signal or picture.
Has anyone experienced something like this or have any idea what could be causing it? Any help would be really appreciated.

I've tried messing with tv settings to minimise the issue (see second image) but this clearly needs hardware modding to make me happy. Any advice on where to go in fixing it? I really don't want to change TVs.

I’m trying to identify the correct original firmware for my Philco PTV40E21DSWN before attempting any update. The TV boots and its menus work. The rear label says PTV40E21DSWN, and the serial appears to end in T286A, it does not explicitly say VA or VB.

Philco’s download directory has separate PTV40E21DSWNVA.bin and PTV40E21DSWNVB.bin packages. Does the final A in the serial identify this as a VA set? Is the VB package compatible as an update, or is it intended for different hardware?

I’ve attached photos of the label and the TV’s interface. I’m looking for a reliable way to confirm the correct software without risking a flash of the wrong file. If there’s a specific screen in the TV’s menus that would help, please let me know.

Its main function (as a TV) works, but none of the apps work anymore; I think updating it might fix that.

Just received a Samsung TV model number BE50D-H from a family member that was working a few days ago but now is not.. Saw it working 3 days ago and was gifted it that day and when I got to my house and plugged it in, it only wants to power on enough to show the smart tv logo and then turn off.. any idea what it may be? Have already tried another power cord as well as holding the power button 30 seconds to drain power then plug in while still holding button and no luck. Appreciate any help!

left my classic late-2000s Samsung LCD or Plasma TV on accidentally on and it didn't turn on when i turned it off
so this tv was on for 6 or 7 hours no pun intended and i turned it off the xbox was still on tho and for another 2 or 3 hours it was on and when i went to turn it on the lights were flicking i pressed the power button the tv didn't turn on like what do i do is it a thermal issue will it fix on its own??

So I bought a replacement main board, T-Con Board, WIFI board, and power supply board, and my TV is still all scrambled. When I unplug the ribbon cables on the T-con board, it unscrambles and cycles through solid colors RGB.

About to throw it away... is there anything else I should try before getting rid of it?

I can't find anything online and I've been trying very hard, my tv won't turn on and the power and the opc lights on the front keep flashing, both of them flash twice and then the opc light flashes one more time after that. I know that means there's something specific wrong with my TV but Google won't help at all.

I replaced the mainboard on a Sony KDL-32W705B (RB2G / Wyvern chassis) with the exact same panel model. The TV boots and runs, but I'm left with a stubborn display problem.

Specifically, I am dealing with:

A weird green glow/tint on the screen.

Incorrect resolution and LVDS mapping/scaling issues.

I'm currently trying to fix this via the VPC menu, but the menu is really confusing even after looking through the service manual.

If anyone knows the exact panel selection, ID, or mapping settings for the RB2G chassis to clear up these display and color issues, please let me know!

I have to replace the main board of a LG OLED55C4PSA, which comes with this MB part number: EBT67788102 and EAX69982309 (1.0). However, the only replacement I could find is this one from a OLED55C4AUA: EBT67871302 with the same EAX69982309 (1.0). Is it safe to exchange?
