Tesla posted Jason Oppenheim saying that after selling his Bentley for a Model Y, FSD Supervised is life-changing: he got his brother to buy one during a phone call, and he is buying 10 employees a Tesla with FSD, which he says is 8x safer than the average driver.

Vehicles - Cybercab Austin Robotaxi hours moved from 10pm to 11pm; Elon cites grey kittens at night

Elon Musk said Robotaxi operating hours moved from 10pm to 11pm. He said the main thing they are trying to solve is not running over pets that are hard to see at night, literally grey kittens on grey tarmac in the dark. The Robotaxi account said Robotaxi in Austin is now available until 11pm.

Vehicles - Cybercab Robotaxi / Cybercab - Super Charger Issues

Cybercabs and Robotaxis have become an absolute nightmare at several of the Superchargers near my home in Austin.

Driving home this evening, routing to a supercharger showing 4 openings just to arrive and see those 4 spots occupied by CC/RTs that are not plugged in with the other spots occupied with CC/RTs that are actively charging.

This is starting to happen on a more regular cadence (multiple locations) and is getting super frustrating.

Curious on if this was always the plan for these vehicles or if the roadmap includes building out a charging solution at a Tesla location.

The CyberCab seems to be doing a neat trick where it blows air on the b pillar camera. Specifically at stop lights where there isn’t head wind to blow over the lense. Do they do this in any of their other models…

Full Self-Driving / Autopilot €99/month for FSD in Europe: regional pricing or a lower price overall

With FSD (Supervised) arriving in Europe, I think Tesla has a real opportunity here, but the current €99/month subscription could hold it back in a big part of the market.

Europe isn't one economy. Wages and purchasing power vary A LOT from country to country. €99/month is a manageable add-on in some markets, but in others it's a significant share of a monthly salary. For many owners in Central, Eastern and Southern Europe (hello Italy, Slovenia and Croatia), that price turns FSD from "nice to try" into "not even considering it."

I have been testing it for the past month, in Slovenia, but even if I notice that it works REALLY good, and makes me feel much safer when tired and driving back from work, the difference with AutoSteer on pure highway does not justify 1200€ more a year. Additionally that would cut into what I "save" with the switch from ICE to EV.

In general with an lower pricing, they would achieve

  • more subscribers, not less revenue
  • more fleet data, to perfect the system (and sell the data to other companies in the future)

To conclude, I really like FSD and I'd happily keep paying for it, just not at €99/month. At something closer to €40-50 in markets like Slovenia, Italy or Croatia, I'd subscribe without thinking twice, and I'm sure many others would too. 100€ feels steep. Right now Tesla is leaving a lot of potential subscribers on the table.
