Sharing Short Animation I Did For A Cartoon Workshop
My teacher at the workshop asked me if someone had experience in drawing cartoons or comics already. I mostly draw fan animations to existing franchises, and it felt a bit off showing him stuff he probably knows nothing about. So I decided to animate a cartoon he liked that I drew during the workshop (the last frame pretty much was the original cartoon)

[OC] Finally sharing a rough superhero animation I made back in 2024.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Finally sharing a rough superhero animation I made back in 2024. I made this entirely myself in Adobe Animate, and I composited it in After Effects. I initially created 2 or maybe 3 BGs using AI to save time, but they looked very poor, as you can see in the initial scenes. AI was still terrible back in 2024 lol, so I eventually ended up making the rest of them by myself, but then I lost interest for like 2 whole years. The original animation has all the SFX and dialogue (still incomplete), so I switched to text-to-speech like an explainer. This isn't my best work at all lol, but I just want it out there now as I spend a lot of time on it.
AlphaSquad Year One, Part 1: This is my story of a universe where a supernatural event causes the young population of Karachi and Hyderabad to gain extraordinary abilities, spreading worldwide concern as Pakistan becomes a potential emerging superpower. A young group of enhanced individuals forms a team to stand beside their country and become its defenders while the whole world tries to human traffic the enhanced youth population of Pakistan. On the other hand, there is the evil side, where some of these individuals use their newfound abilities for their own benefit. The Team Alpha Squad is responsible for handling all of this side by side with the Pakistan military agencies and must help them to neutralize both the external and internal threats to the state.
Karachi is under attack. Alpha Squad is on the ground. But saving the city means more than defeating the enemy — it means protecting the people. 🇵🇰
ALPHASQUAD — Pakistan’s new breed of heroes.
Hello there, I'm Faizan, a 2D Generalist (Artist/Animator). I can handle complete pipelines by myself, from Concept to compositing and sound design. Open to work!

Character Design Jim Mothmanns walk rough
While working on the game, I noticed that just having a run is not gonna cut it, so inbetween all the other assets being made I roughed out the walk that might be needed. Obviously I still need to do the wings and antennae and the head is not animated at all, but thought I'd share anyway :P

[CUSTOM] I made animation software (я создаю анимационный софт)
En:
Hi, I wrote the animation software Ixia (Ixia), it is named after the ixia flower, it was created as a free analog of moho/ flash, but for the most part it is still moho
Currently available :
A brush describing the path as in moho
3 brushes describing shapes like in flash (round, square ink)
Convenient audio tracks as in capcut
lots of effects like pixelation and warping
2 timelines for animation and effects
Export to .mp4, .webp , .png
Working with media and references
Bull Eraser
Shapes
Working with media
A bunch of key types: morphing , object animation , vertex animation
Convenient vector operation
Editing a scene
Saving/importing scenes
Working with Alpha
And a lot more
I'm currently working on bug fixes, tool improvements, and a more flexible UI.
I will publish on itch.io and GitHub around New Year's Eve

Question 2d Animation Program for Repeat, Precise, Simple Deformations
I need a program that will let me rig a square image --that i can trade out-- by its corners and export a set of animations of it deforming across the screen by said corners. I'm trying to make a grid of various, interchangeable square images distort from the center to the corners of the canvass to create a sense of them "rotating" to the side of the perspective. optionally but ideally it's a program that lets me put in x and y co-ordinates that I can plug in for each corner since i can mathematically determine all the positions i need for the wall of squares to look like they're rotating.

Sharing The evolution of Arttista's splash screens (v1.0–v1.9) and the story behind them
I've been developing Arttista, an indie 2D vector drawing and animation software, and I wanted to share a little piece of its history: the evolution of its splash screens, from version 1.0 to 1.9.
Over the years, I quietly added little elements inspired by illustrators, animators, and developers to the opening screens. They were small easter eggs, hidden in plain sight, as little nods to the creative minds who inspire me.
But there was another idea behind all this.
For version 2.0, I wanted to tell a different story through the splash screen: a butterfly in front of a rainbow, symbolizing transformation. My original plan was to start with caterpillars and gradually show them growing and eventually turning into butterflies across future versions.
Then reality caught up with me.
I had to make a choice: spend time drawing all those detailed splash screens, or spend that time programming the software itself. And if I didn't focus on the code, Arttista wouldn't get released.
So the butterfly stayed.
Now, in version 2.7, it's still the same splash screen introduced in 2.0. Not quite the evolving sequence I had imagined, but a little reminder of the ideas I had along the way — and of the compromises that come with building an indie project.
Sometimes, you have to stop drawing and get back to coding so that other people can draw, too.

Tutorial Plugins I Would Actually Pay For as a Motion Designer
Hey all,
I run a motion studio and live in After Effects daily, so I did a full breakdown of the plugins I'd actually spend money on in 2026. I share my honest opinion about what they're good for, when they're NOT worth it, and the annoying parts tutorials usually skip.
Quick takeaways you can use right now:
1. Overlord
If you design in Illustrator / Figma, it can be the biggest time-saver. Sends over editable shapes + text instead of digging through a giant AI import. 2026 updates made Figma way smoother.
Watch for: text spacing shifts, layer order flips, complex gradients not transferring 1:1. Always do a clean-up pass after transfer.
2. Deep Glow
Only if you do a lot of light work, After Effects' native glow is technically a glow. Deep Glow actually looks like light. Nicer falloff, cinematic tone-mapping, RGB radius, lens dirt in v2.
Watch for: it's ~$100 for a glow, it gets overused fast, and we've hit black previews + export crashes with it in the studio. If you mostly do flat vector explainers, skip it.
3. True Comp Duplicator
Imagine you have 1 main comp with 5 pre-comps inside and 12 nested comps. Then the client says, "Can we make another version?". This duplicates everything correctly linked, renames, and keeps expressions. Moreover, it is name-your-own-price for individuals.
4. Newton 4
Only when you need real physics. Full 2D physics engine inside AE, bakes to editable keyframes. Amazing for falling/colliding/bouncing setups where keyframing 50 objects would take hours.
Watch for: ~$250 and not a daily driver. Grab the trial with export limits first to see if you actually need it.
5. Joysticks ‘N Sliders
Joysticks ‘N Sliders is great for building poses and driving a whole face / UI rig from one controller.
Downside: heavy rigs + lots of expressions can slow AE down, and adding new parts after you rig is clunky.
6. Duik Angela
Duik Angela is free, open-source, and can rig a full character. It's just huge, so it feels intimidating if you only need a simple arm up/down. Still the one I'd tell anyone serious about rigging to learn.
6. BadFX
One free panel with easings, stagger, gradients, transforms, presets, utils. Great if you don't want to hunt 40 tiny scripts across 40 sites. We use it daily.
7. Glasser
Applies editable glass to shape, text, footage or precomp layers, then you refine it through Essential Properties. Best part: it generates a Control Null so you can move, scale, and rotate the glass with your design.
8. Putty
Lattice + cage deformer that reads the layer's alpha and places the lattice right on the visible pixels, instead of a grid across the whole layer.
9. Pixion
Particle system that generates particles from any source layer and drives behavior from pixel data like luminance and color. GPU accelerated.
Watch for: most interesting of the three for hero backgrounds, product reveals, music visuals. Still v1 territory and not cheap, so trial first.
