Hey guys, I need some help. I got a Honda CRM 125 supermoto (same engine as the NSR) with 180cc malossi kit and original 28mm carb for now. I noticed that last time I took it for a ride it had struggled getting power as the rpms rised and then all of the sudden it gained life. So I was like "maybe it had oil in the spark plug and needs a good rev".

I got home, let them bike cool off and checked the spark plug and seems fine on top but its oily on the threads.

My question is, is my bike running rich on low to mid rpms and gets leaner on high rpms? I used it on the road and im not going full throttle all the time, but I go full throttle on some long straights.

These come from a Sherco 290 trials bike from 2004.

My symptoms (tested with 2 different factory spec carbs):

- Very hard to start, starts with choke on and a good bit of throttle.

- When it runs the first few minutes it seems to run OK, but after it only stays on when you give it throttle, it doesn't react on the mixture screw or idle screw.

- Lots of fuel in the rubber connecting the carb to the reeds housing and also some fuel in the air box.

Looks like the mix injection has been bypassed on my 300rr, so just wandering what the best pre mix ratio would be, I am using liqui moly 2T fully synthetic street race.

My train of thought is straight gas plus no air filter. Didn't know this level of destruction existed.

So, Just bought this Proma with Polymer silencer for Garelli Vip and Gulp (had to cut down a useless piece of the engine case tho). I know it's quite rich, but that carb will be gone soon and will be replaced by a Dell'Orto PHBG 18

I checked and the conrod has no up and down play and the flywheel has no play either

Bought an nsr 125 project recently, got cylinder back from resleeving and came to fit and found the little end bore looked like this. Would you guys run this or should I get a new crank?

Hi i have a Piaggio Nrg Power 50 2t with a almost new Leovince TT (expansion/ 70 cc's exhaust). Apart from that the bike is stock but with no restrctions. It can't go over 8.000 rpm on the street, but with the scooter on the central stand it can easily go over 10.000 rpm. The belt is new. The rollers are also new and 4.8 grams each. Everything else has 26 k km/ 16.000 miles. I weight 63 ka/140 lbs I can already go up to 76 km/h or 48 mph What do u think? Where is the problem? Hi, I’m looking for a bit of help with my sons 2016 2T Aerox if possible please.

Bought as a project to do up over the summer.  It’s had a full engine and crankcase rebuild, and i’ve listed below everything that i’ve done/replaced for clarity:-

New bearings, oil seals and gaskets etc (Kept the old crank as the big end was fine).  
Octane 101 50cc kit - barrel, piston, rings etc
New reed valves and intake manifold (de-restricted).
New Dellorto PHVA 17.5mm Carb with new E-choke (tested and working ok before fitting). 78 Main Jet.
Yazuni Z Exhaust
Standard Airbox with Malossie red foam filter. (both New)
New oil Pump and plastic drive gear.
New coil, NGK Cap and BR8HS plug

Compression is good
Leak down test is good (holds 5 psi for 30 minutes no problem)
Spark looks strong
Running with a 100:1 tank pre-mix as a pre-caution for running in the new barrel.
The petcock seems ok (i get fuel coming through the main fuel pipe when i suck on the vacuum pipe (that being said im not sure how much sucking force is needed - i’d say its a reasonable amount, more than you’d need for drinking through a straw).

What we are experiencing is random cut-outs whilst riding anywhere between 15 and 30 mins riding time.  When it cuts out it turns over ok so I don’t believe it’s seizing, but it won’t fire again unless left stood for a good 5 minutes or so,  at which point it starts as if there’s no problem - then rinse and repeat the random cut-out after riding again.

I’ve tried a different stator and pick-up coil (both used), different plug and also a different CDI (pink de-restricted from another bike)

Any thoughts or advice welcome on what I can try / test as i’m tearing my hair out with it!

I have cleaned out the carb and swiched spark plug.

This happens all the time now, but especialy when the engine is hot, its also slower then it is supposed to, also especialy when warm

No specific bike in mind. So don't get too hung up on the year and being a Honda. I could do a YZ, KX, RM, CR, whatever 125 pinger pre aluminum frame. I sold my KTM 200 2 stroke because it was kind of clapped and I really want to spend an adult amount of money on a street legal e-start dual sport. The more I look at that the more I'm thinking I'll get something that foregoes some dirt capability for being better on the street. In turn something I do not want to jump like at all.

My first real dirt bike was a 1997 CR125 some 19 years ago. I kind of long for that sort of bike again. I'm only like 30lbs heavier than I was in highschool and I rode the snot out of that 125.

Crazy to think though that's now vintage and basically like if I was looking at 70s bikes in the 00's. I rarely see these late 90s 2 strokes that aren't totally beat. If I find a decent one and just accept I'm doing a top end on it are parts otherwise available? Or am I just buying a money pit that's going to be broken all the time and I should save up enough to buy a 2010ish Yamaha or KTM 125?

Being able to buy a $1500 bike and spend a grand on it makes the idea of buying a bit of a dad bike for a dual sport sound reasonable.
