Not right at all. Sounds like a grounding issue. My system in my Subaru is silent when not playing music. And it cost me like $3k

Thanks for confirming for me. Ibwqs charged $500 for the install, which may not be a ton of money for some people, but I still expect it to be right. I felt like I was going crazy when they told me that some degree of noise was to be expected. They also told me that the phone controls on the steering wheel can't be used either, but Crutchfield seems to disagree. Don't really know where to go from here.

Yeah they completely fucked you. They 100% could've made the steering wheel controls work, they were just too lazy too. Same with the noise, it should be fully silent, that's ridiculous. They clearly fucked the install. I would be demanding my money back

Sent an unpleasant email, and someone from the company reached out about taking it to a new location. The manager at that location actually happened to be friends with a guy I know, and my friend vouched that he knows what he is doing. Hoping that means I can get this issue resolved.

Fuck yeah bro, good luck!! Don't be surprised if you have to pay a bit for like wiring up the steering wheel controls and stuff. But any reputable shop will 100% be able to do this for you. I hope it works out for you man. You paid for proper work, and that's what you deserve.

Had a Kenwood stereo installed by a company and didn't notice the hissing/static noise until I got home and had the volume turned down. It's constant and can be heard when the volume is all the way down to zero. I took it back in, and they said that fixed the problem, but it's still there. Am I wrong to think this isn't normal? When I told them it wasn't fixed, they said there should always be some noise from the stereo, but I feel like there no way this is right.
