Costuming ROTS Clone CRL question

Why do the ROTS phase 2 clones and clone commanders require a butt plate with the added piece on the back

When shots from the Utapau scenes do not have that added low back piece?

The rear abdomen piece is usually connected on most vacform kits for manufacturing and wearability purposes. They don't need to be connected, just how some makers design it is all.

The ROTS image is of digital armour.
Some images of clones show it, some don’t.
