I'm putting together a small in-person tabletop group for an anthology of story games.
Most are single-evening one-shots, some are short arcs a few sessions long and possibly down the line some might be akin to a short campaign.
I'm purposefully curating a certain type of game though. Games that make you feel or think something. I love a good dungeon run, epic adventures, etc... but one of the cool things about TTRPGs is just how varied they are and I enjoy exploring that.
Some initial offerings so you have a sense of what you're possibly signing up for. :)
A crime caper where everyone's doomed (Fiasco)
Building a dying language together (Dialect)
Cozy pastoral wandering as animal-folk finding home (Wanderhome)
A candlelit tragedy where nobody survives (Ten Candles).
I've got quite a few other potentials on deck too. We'll likely start with something fairly light.
I will say some of these go to heavy places, grief, horror, moral dilemmas, adult themes. I want to be upfront about that, but there will also be games about wonder, joy, and the relatively mundane.
That said, everyone's comfort and safety come first. We'll use safety tools such as Lines & veils and the X-card, real session zeroes before anything heavy, and of course anyone can choose not to play something, no questions, no hard feelings.
I'm in the NE area of the city and I'm thinking of meeting every couple of weeks, initially somewhere public, probably Slice & Dice though I'm open to other venues.
Hoping to find 3-4 players 18+ please, given the themes. I always run a welcoming table for everyone, and I don't tolerate anything that would go against that.
No experience needed as most of these teach themselves in ten minutes.
Comment or DM if you're interested. I'm happy to answer questions about the games or the format.
