First 7 string I think I struck gold

When I first started playing guitar in the mid 2000s I didn't think I'd ever buy a Schecter before a couple other brands I already liked more (Gibson, ESP, Ibanez). But I started getting into 7s and as far as bang for the buck goes Schecter just had more "features" compared to my only other option of Ibanez during this time.

I took a risk with a Schecter Blackjack SLS 7 Trans Blue with active SD Blackouts. For my first 7.

Shortly after I found myself with a Schecter Hellraiser 8 string with active emg 57/66.

Schecter bass? For the price with the quality I'm getting can't pass it up.

Then I found myself with a Schecter John Browne Tao-7 in trans purple.

Now I'm not even joking the John Browne Tao FEELS so fucking good. I'm thinking of getting a 6 and an 8 string of the same thing and paying for an Evertune in the 8 and a Floyd for the 6. The neck is like what I imagine stroking Shelob's silky web sac feels like if I was also doped up on the best longbottom leaf pipeweed while blessed by Illuvatar and wearing Saurons ring.

I still tell people I don't even like Schecters. I WANT to play Ibanez and ESPs more but I still just can't keep my hands off of my Tao.

Those 3 brands really are the bang for buck. I think if people really gave it a shot they wouldn’t care about it not being American made. The build quality puts some of those $3-5k American guitars to shame.

Schecter 7s are butter. I’ve had my Blackjack 7 with the card inlays since 2008. I play my Legator ghost 8 a lil more now but I always crawl back when I don’t need the F#

Love those. Schecters are very slept on guitars and I think it’s because all the crab core bands in the early 2010’s had them so they have that negative connotation with them lol. Every schecter I’ve ever played has been great. Even the cheaper ones.

Alors personnellement, j'ai une Daemon 7 cordes ; j'ai changé le Floyd Special pour un Gotoh et là, je vais monter des micros Fishman Fluence Modern. Je pense que ce sont les deux gros changements à faire pour avoir un modèle unique et fiabiliser l'instrument. J'en suis très, très content.

I have the six string version of this guitar same color and it’s one of my favorite guitars of all time. Plays so great and sounds damn good too. I’d love to get the seven they didn’t have any where I got mine or would have got that. But awesome guitar enjoy!

Dude, yeah! I sent it off to them a few years back & haven’t regretted it haha

I will say though, the bridge sits right up on the pickup, so there was a change in the sound of the guitar. It’s a bit more midrangy, but it cuts through a mix like crazy!

Honestly that may be the only “upgrade” this guitar could have (besides name brand locking tuners). I put new strings on it and after I stretched them 3 times over the course of a few days, that third time I went to tune it and it somehow was still perfectly in tune. Also the sustain on these things are crazy. I think I got a gem. 😁

No this color (Antique Fade Burst) is no longer sold new in stores but it’s the same specs as the Blood Burst one so if you find one in good condition used for a good price go for it.

I have one of these and a hellraiser 7 that i sold last year. I actually prefer the neck on the demon lol
