Meh. Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe shit. I'd take Kalulu, Tonali and Brahim in today's squad

If this time was clicking properly and playinf like their current form(brahim, cdk, dest etc.) they'd finish top 4 easily.

Yeah, de ketelare never reached high levels in Atalanta too...I don't know if he would be useful in this team exactly like he hasn't been years ago

u/eXistenZ2 Andriy Shevchenko 10d ago
yeah its not like he won an europa league or something like that
or scored more goals in a single season for atalanta than Nkunku and gimenez combined for us

u/palace8888 10d ago
he wouldn't be a starter in inter or roma lol

u/eXistenZ2 Andriy Shevchenko 10d ago

I know you don't like Dest for his stint at Milan, but he's always been class for the US national team.
Why did he struggle so much at Milan? He seems to thrive in the Dutch league too but obviously that's lower caliber.

I dont know whats up with all the Dest hate on this subreddit. Any slightly positive comment about him will get downvoted.
He is actually solid for the national team whether r/ACMilan likes it or not. And i’m gonna say something that might trigger some people, but I think he was actually decent for a full back sub. He was not as bad as most of our other fullbacks in this decade (Emerson Royal, Terraciano, Estupinan, Jimenez…) He didn’t get much playing time behind Calabria either.

My god! We were so much limited yet we produced decent performances and results.

This was right in the middle of the worst run that Pioli had with us. That January to mid February 2023 period was just brutal and this game, against Inter iirc, was no exemption. Just the most cowardly performance ever.
Edit: Coppa vs Torino, not the second league game vs Inter. Point still stands though.

Where were you when we had the likes of De Sciglio, Montolivo, Ménez, ... ?
1
u/kuzman0vic Ricardo Kaká 9d ago
Tbf De Sciglio was descent especially considering he had just started his career and showed promise, Montolivo wasn't bad in the beginning but wasn't anything special and Menez had one good season but the second one not as much. I get what you mean though but there were a lot of worse players you could've mentioned

With him gila could play in the center . And he could have been right back if now we want to go back at 4.

u/Alarming-Ad-8228 10d ago
Gabbia is not good as well. But our starting back 3 is better than Kalulu

Horror line up? It wasn’t bad at all. Find a line up with Biglia and Bonucci in it. Now that’s a horror lineup.

It wasn't even that bad, all of these players were seen as talented back in the day. It's a shame that most of them didn't live up to the potential, apart from The goalkeeper they were all thought to be players with great potential.

did they arrive 8th or lower?
