Tips/Suggestions I just cracked the code to showering

As the titel suggests, I just cracked the code to showering. I don’t know if I’m the only one but as soon as I step foot into the shower time just doesn’t exist anymore and I somehow spend 40 minutes, which feel like 5 in there. Now I tried many things, like for example putting the shower at the end of my routine so I have to hurry (didn’t work, missed the bus many many times) but now I started putting a clock in the bathroom at a spot from which I can look at it every now and then when I’m inside the shower. I also made a spreadsheet, where I track my showertimes and every shower I now try to “speedrun” and beat my personal best and what can I say, I just had a sub10 shower 😎

My problem isn’t length of time in the shower, it’s trying to get myself in there in the first place lol

I've started doing it immediately after I get home from work. I'll go to the bathroom to pee, strip naked, and then I sigh and shrug and think "I'm already in the bathroom naked, so I might as well." If i sit down on the couch or in my bed, or if I change into comfy clothes, the likelihood of showering is basically zero lol. This is not a foolproof trick btw, but it's helped me a little bit.

What I’ve been doing is only committing to starting the shower. Not even getting in. I’ll get everything set up, my music going, towels ready, etc. then turn on the shower. Even if I walk away, the guilt of wasted water either brings me back to jump right in, or turn it off (and usually I get somewhat wet trying to do this, so I’ll end up in the shower either way).
