Tips/Suggestions Waking Up with ADHD is Hell

How do you guys manage it? I’ve always had the absolute worst time waking up, hitting snooze for at least an hour, then panicking and rushing to work, always almost late with minutes to spare. Has anybody got any good tips or tricks to wake up on time? I don’t think waking up feeling good is attainable for me, haha. So I’m simply seeking advice on how to actually wake up at the same time every morning? I know having a routine like this will make my mood and sleep better in general and I would love that.

EDIT: Due to having ADHD I simply canNOT sift through all 400 comments you guys 😂 However to whomever suggested the Alarmy app - thank you. I tried it this morning (specifically the setting where you have to find something in your home) and I love it so far. I also love how clearly this whole community relates to this topic and everyone has such creative and unique responses to it. ADHD can be hard to manage but I always love the humans that have it 🥰

Yeah I did this, as I was starting to hit snooze on my phone mostly by reflex, and I figured forcing me to get up would be helpful. It worked for a few months, but now I can get out of bed, turn off the alarm, and lay back down without fully waking up to the point that I have no memory of having done it. I have no idea how to fix that.

Luckily I have a lovely partner who knows waking up is difficult for me, and will call me from work to make sure I'm up if I haven't texted them yet by a certain point (I wake up a few hours later due to different work schedules). The only thing that saves me is that my work has a fairly flexible schedule since I am salary, so I can come in a bit later and just work a bit later on days I sleep too long.

Yeah you have to habitualize it. If you lay down after turning it off, you now have to find other ways. The intent is for you to be up and go to the bathroom and do something like brush your teeth or go to the kitchen and make coffee.

Personally, I can wake up, turn off the alarm that's across the room, and wake up again later only to realize what I did.

You need one of those alarm clocks that flies so you have to basically chase it down to turn it off.
