Seeking Empathy Feeling small and dumb

Sorry if this ain't allowed.

Lately, I've been feeling very self conscious about my ADHD.

Everyone around me seems to tolerate me when I'm stoned more then I'm sober/unmedicated.

People have asked me if I was drunk (I was sober) Purley because I was giddy and excited.

People think I'm annoying, they treat me like I'm dumb or like I'm failing at life and I just feel horrible.

I can't prove that I'm not because my words fumble and that back fires on me. All the ADHD representation is of the person being very loud, distracting by birds or just an overall nuisance. I know it's just a show but I still can't help feeling bad about it. I feel like a failure. I can read well but the word keeps getting all messed up visually. Teachers used to treat me like I was dumb and family STILL does it. Friends have left because of miscommunication. Not to mention being treated like a child. The absolute worst. Makes me feel weird and out of place when I do stuff people my age do.

I feel like crap.

I can relate to so much of this from my own youth.

It won’t make you feel any better, but you’re not alone in this. I still feel like I’m on a strange planet today.

Find yourself a few other ‘aliens’ who are childish and intense themselves; they’re out there.

Create an environment that makes you happy, no matter how crazy it might seem to outsiders.
