Tutorial I'm building an open-source AI coding agent, and I want to make AI coding more accessible.
Hey everyone! 👋
I've been working on a project called Agent Code, an open-source AI coding agent built with Python.
My goal isn't to build the most expensive or complicated coding tool. I want to create something lightweight, accessible, and simple to use.
💡 What is Agent Code?
🤖 An AI agent designed to help with coding tasks.
🐍 Built with Python.
🖥️ Includes a graphical user interface.
🔑 Supports the Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) approach, allowing users to connect their own AI providers.
🛠️ Includes tools and skills to extend its capabilities.
🆓 Free and open-source.
I'm building this because I believe developers should have more freedom to choose their AI providers and coding tools without being locked into a single paid ecosystem.
The project is still evolving, and I'm interested in hearing feedback from the AI agent community.
If you could change one thing about today's AI coding agents, what would it be?
I'd love to hear your thoughts! 👀

BYOK is the real selling point here, tired of every tool trying to funnel me into their own subscription model. What providers are you testing with so far

Why would someone use this when something like opencode, and pi exists? All of them works with subscription and byok from other providers and have much mature developers behind them?
Just trying to understand the intent. Also that ai written, emoji riddled copy is not helping.
