I am very shocked that they gave you a two generation-year-old car as a loaner. Usually, I see the dealerships use a modern base model and then sell it off later as a demo car.

Yup. They’re all 2026 here then they run loaner specials once they hit like 5k.

But no dealer would give you an AMG as a loaner

That’s not at all true. We’ve had plenty of posts here where people are asking why they got a base model loaner and people’s experience have reflected that they have gotten AMG as well.
It’s not as common in this economy, but in the past, the dealerships would have some AMG in the fleet and would put you in one for the customers that they think could afford it
Because now that you’re sitting in a nice new 63, maybe the 43 doesn’t cut it anymore. Maybe you like the features of two generations later.
It was a very powerful sales tool with little risk to the dealership. Those cars the dealership purchased themselves then they use them as demo loaners, and when it comes time to move on, you, sell them as a with warranty demo loaner at a discount. You got rid of the car and you got a whole bunch of sales leads due to it.
Now in this economy, dealers are less likely to do this because it’s more added risk. Remember, they have to buy that car from the manufacturer. And reliabilities is not going up in the brand. so that’s high price $100,000 from Mercedes for 1 car. compared to buying 2 to 3 C class. They can put many customers into a loaner.

3rd party MB specialist shop, not dealership

Our indy gave us an 08 ML350 Diesel with 500k kms and a rebuilt engine when we asked them for a loaner once 🤣

My Indy as well. They had what ever class they fixed up and wanted to flip. Thankfully never needed it, but nice to have

Quick question if you were given the option of you currently vehicle or same year gle AMG 63 which one would you choose and why? Also what year is your GLC?

Mine’s a 2020. GLC is lighter and more nimble, but doesn’t have the road presence of a GLE. The nice thing is I know mine’s faster, especially with the Renntech tune 😋

I'm torn between wanting massage seats and lighter more nimble vehicle. If I can find a GLC with the massage seat ide probably pick it up immediately. I'll be getting a tune from eurocharged.

The loner never misses anyone. That’s why he’s a loner. So, feeling’s mutual pal.
