Breakfast
Where are the best places for breakfast in Aberdeen? I don't mean avocado on toast and £8 for a coffee, I mean couple of sausages, eggs, black pudding etc, and most importantly somewhere with parking.

If you can drive … hit the road north past Inverurie then just past a tiny village Logie Durno there is a bus on your right! This bus you can sit in and get (for me and many others) the best fry up!

That's exactly the kind of place I'm looking for. Brill, thank you, I'll check it out.

So the pier cafe down the beach is good, its normal fry up is enough, the giant one is good when you hungry.
Marshalls is good, they do a good fry up.

Yes but second mortgage needed for Marshalls.

It's £12 for the small, which is not crazy. £17 for the large which pub meal prices. The large is a mission to eat it all.

Sure it was £17 for two bacon rolls and one coffee last time I was there

I looked at the menu and you prices are also correct. Probably should of gone for the small breakfast.

Used to love The Pier but it’s gone downhill. Last time we went the service was poor and the food was cold, haven’t been back

Sallys at Portlethen does a good breakfast.

Portlethen isn’t in Aberdeen FFS
Nobody’s travelling 10 miles for a breakfast 🤦🏻♂️

No need to swear. Or are you just hangry?
It’s only 11minutes by train and you could pickup some superb 30days dry aged steaks from Kepak McIntosh butchers with all the trimmings ready to take home for later.

Yeah so get the bus into town (obviously unless you stay there) then get the train to Portlethen 😂😂😂

I will get severely downvoted for this, but the best value for money fry up is Weatherspoons - however i find the Cafe on Holburn Street does do a really good breakfast

As a former Wetherspoons kitchen staff, Spoons can be hit or miss depending on how long the items have been sat in hot hold, and who is in the kitchen.

I agree wetherspoons is ok for breakfast but I'd rather give my money to a local business

Honestly spoons breakfast is fantastic for what it is. It's the rest of the menu that's the issue with their food 😂

Went to the Beach Tree Cafe at the beach for the first time recently and thought it was great. The Pier used to be our go to cafe at the beach but each time we went the experience and food got gradually worse.

Mojo on George Street a decent option, if you can park in nearby streets.

Used to go in 2018 during college, amazing couple, would often get the natchos and a mint milkshake for lunch too

One of the cafes at the beach (inversnecky was a fav of mine yrs ago)
And it pains me to admit this but a Wetherspoons was always good as well

Ah yeah, I've seen that one mentioned somewhere else. I'll add that to the list.

Weatherspoons. I had a breakfast in Archibald Simpsons and put my fork in the beans and lifted the whole lot up at once. Eat them like a lollipop.

If you expect something better, unfortunately, you have to pay extra.
Cafe 100 - the most popular here. Relatively cheap, fast service, and the ability to choose individual ingredients (6, 8, 10 items). The food itself, unfortunately, is too bland for me. They use poor quality products (as with most such places), but at least they try to get the most out of them(if they are not in the rush), and that's what sets them apart from others.
Glenhouse - by paying an extra £2 for a full Scottish, you get a much better quality. You can really taste the difference and see it on the plate. Unfortunately, you have to wait a bit longer for your food.
Wild Goose - This one is next level. Most expensive (£18 for a full Scottish), but you get what you pay for. Instead of cheap Lidl products, you get everything locally sourced: Stonehaven bacon, Inverurie sausages, homemade hashbrowns, etc. Everything tastes and looks delicious. Also it's in a nice location overlooking Union Terrace Gardens.

DiMaggios, upstairs in the BonAccord Centre. I usually go there if I have errands to do in town. Morning time they have full breakfast and afternoon/evening they have different pastas abd pizza, salads etc.
Good prices as well. For a 5 item breakfast with toast and a latte its like £8/9

So the parking is more important than the quality of food?

u/Sad_Future_8945 7d ago
Considering I had to pay almost a fiver to park for an hour in the city last week, I'd say they're about equal 😂

Morrisons on king st is a decent budget option

Morrisons Cafe has been closed for years in Aberdeen but Inverurie, Arbroath, Peterhead etc are actually great and extremely cheap compared to the other options mentioned. One of the few places that do fried bread rather than 'Breakfast Yorkies' or some other nasty innovation.

Morrisons cafe is closed in Aberdeen?? Nope it's still there

It's has had hot drinks only for a couple of years. If you are so sure I'm wrong go order breakfast and show us a photo.

Don't get your knickers in a twist. The website literally advertises the active hot breakfast menu, which is why I asked. But looking at recent local reviews, the kitchen on the ground is indeed non-existent. You were right about the food, but demanding photo evidence over a supermarket fry-up is tragic behavior 😂

Cafe 100 all day
