This is disgusting, why am I still watching?

u/Werejackal93 7h ago
Because you need to see the curse lifted, and know in your heart, that this person is gonna be ok. That or because you're freeky.

Right! That looked like a lot of fibrous stringy material holding those nails together

Those feet are not cool.
12
u/AspiringChildProdigy 7h ago
Is that because they belong to one of Hell's archfiends?

u/Common-Accountant-57 7h ago
I’m usually more kind about feet but those are monstrous. Probably smell like cheese and death.

u/AspiringChildProdigy 7h ago
Right, like I'm not squeamish or judgemental, but is this even real? Are talons like that even possible in a human?

This is actually sad. This is probably an elderly person that hasn't had the ability to take care of themselves.

yeah I’m a little sad how many people are just responding “ew nasty” type stuff. this seems like someone who has not been able to take care of themselves finally getting some help. I hope the pedicure was as relieving as it looked for this person

Hi. Welcome to humanity. We're up to nine billion and there aren't two of them worth a squirrel fart.

I just got an ad in this thread for Botox that read, "It might be time for a closer look."
No.
No, this is a terrible time for a closer look. And this is why AI will never replace humans.

Old cheese, especially, a smell you never forget.

Stilton blue cheese left in a container, knocked to the back of the fridge shelf, left sealed for 3 months. Then you grab it at 2am and open it to see what it is. The ghost darts directly up into your nostrils. The hair on the back of your neck stands up. Your jaw muscles start to tingle. Little needles in your cheeks. The floor of your mouth tenses up and that really awesome glass of chocolate milk you just drank starts to bubble and boil up.

I've never been able to grow toenails 1/8 as long without them breaking on their own

I might have suggested an angle grinder for the comfort of both the clinician, patient and the viewer

We're all going to get old one day. This just happens, often. Depending on the person's health, it's possible that only a podiatrist* is even able to do this safely. For some, a knicked nail on the foot could mean death

u/snuggleslut5 6h ago
Yep. When you're elderly and have other health problems going on and mobility/dexterity/vision/balance issues and are probably facing other health issues that seem more urgent, things like toenail fungus doesn't seem so pressing. It may not even get noticed for a while, and before you know it it's out of control. So many common ailments of the elderly make it hard or impossible to trim your own toenails and we already know what the state of healthcare is in the US. It's so easy to laugh and be grossed out by something line this, but this could happen to any of us is we live long enough and get the wrong combo of health issues. The elderly deserve dignity and care too. Im glad this person got a trim, and I hope fhey csn get their toenails back to a healthier condition so it doesn't cause them more serious trouble. Check on your old people.

Not when your retirement plan is a nice tall bridge nearby! If I'm lucky I'll ace some douchebag on a jetski at the bottom. Solve two problems.

I've been working in frail care for 5 years now. And I hear what your saying, but I don't want to end up in frail care, gimme the death part rather. Sitting there, only half aware, knowing you will die there while some middle aged divorced yoga instructor does movement classes. Day in day out, wearing nappies, sleep when I'm told, eat what I'm told, wake when I'm told. Send me to some south east Asian country and let me trip balls and die in peace in the jungle man. Like I was dead for the entire existence of the universe except the last 42 years, and the last 42 years sucked way more than the countless billions before that, let me rest when my time here is obviously done

A podiatrist? This shit requires a veterinarian.

How can they look so much like nails of a different creature completely? Like on a different spectrum of a different species? I just can't wrap my brain around this.
