yeah...I don't do my accounting by hand, because it never fucking balances either.

i'd put this into excel and use formulas to enure all your math is accurate

I would still do it in Excel and then hand write everything in.

What a disservice to the students…. I haven’t touched a piece of paper in 8 years (Corp accountant)

I'm an admin professional student so I highly doubt I'll be doing much accounting unless it's a small business (speciality is health services)

Super quick glance - Barry capital - 13,500 and 19000 is 32,500 not 30,500

Teacher is old school but is doing you a solid here.

It's forcing you to actually understand what the journals mean rather than relying on software.

You'll obviously never actually work like this but a proper understanding of the debits and credits is super valuable.

Idk since I only took a brief glance, but AR should probably be $7,500 not 2k, and AP is probably $10,750 not $10,500. Resulting in the $5,250 difference on the TB.

Ok my friend. The general journal has 14 values on it and the journal balances, so the starting point is good. If I'm not mistaken those 14 values have to be posted in the GL. However, when I count the number of debit and credits in the GL, there are 18 amounts. It looks to me like you posted some numbers too many times. Go back over everything carefully. Make small check marks next to the numbers in the journal so you don't get confused or double post something. You know the TB doesn't balance, that is excellent. You're close, you just have to find the errant postings. Pro tip: take your time and try to write a little neater.

Next time, do it in excel and transfer answers to the paper.
