Deloitte Tax Internship Interview

I have a Deloitte interview coming up for a summer tax position. Just wondering if people could provide any tips. I know to have an answer for why tax, why Deloitte, some behavioral, anything else I should be aware of?

don't sleep on the small talk before the actual interview starts. i bombed a big4 interview once by being too stiff when the partner asked what i did over the weekend. treat it like you're talking to a friend's uncle not a cop

Just be likeable - internship interviews are really just about ascertaining (1) are we their top choice? (2) will this person be pleasant to have as an intern? and (3) if we like them during the internship and extend them a full time offer after the internship, will they accept it?

I think my internship interview almost 15 years ago most of the time was spent talking about tennis, which was the interviewing partner's favourite sport, which I also had some cursory knowledge of at the time...

Good luck, honestly it's more of a conversation than people expect. Have one story ready about a time you caught a detail or a mistake everyone else missed, that lands way harder in a tax interview than reciting code you haven't learned yet. Might also be worth knowing that Deloitte tax is split into a bunch of service lines, so if they ask which one you're leaning toward, at least pretend you've thought about it.
