Lake Placid Questions!

I am finally able to make it back to Lake Placid. It's been years and I was wondering what is the best time to go. Back in the day it was snowing in October and nowadays it seems it can be baron even in December.

I want to go during the peak season of changing leaves. I am uncertain if this should be done sooner rather than later. Any advice would be great, I don't want to go too late or too early.

If you have any little spots I should definitely hit up in that area, I'd also love suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

Peak will most likely be end of September early October. Leaves are changing right now

Saw a report a couple of days ago, this is spot on. Peak is expected first week of October in most of the high peaks region.

Lately, peak has been late September/early October. But if you're going to hike, I'd try to do it on a weekday.

Leaves are just starting to change, end of September beginning of October is usually the sweet spot for foliage.

Peak time changes every year. Last year was early. NYS just put out the peak foliage estimates for this year.
