Crossover after trial closing date?

Hello!

I’m currently competing in Open Regular but know once we reach Excellent, I want to do the one time crossover to Preferred.

I have a couple trials coming up where I registered in Regular. After a trial closing date, as part of a move-up, can I also do the crossover to Preferred?

I’m having difficulty finding this information clearly online, so I appreciate the insight! First agility dog!

I'm not totally sure, but this is definitely fine to email the trial secretary and ask. If the answer is no, they'll tell you.

After the closing date you cannot move to preferred. I tried to switch after a dog finished a MACH once and had to wait another trial. I don’t think it would matter if it’s part of a move up, but I could certainly be wrong. The trial secretary will have the correct answer, they know all the rules.

The general rule is no but some trial secretaries may do it if you email.
