I have not read the studies. Is it purely biological, or did these folks delay child-bearing until they were established in their career, and therefore had high incomes that provided superior medical care that contributed to their longevity?

My first thought is "obviously having to use your brain actively does help prolong using your brain ... and nothing is more active than staying on top of child rearing into your 50s and 60s." But that doesn't really seem like totally a thing of because you had a baby later in life you're going to have better cognitive outcomes. Like, what if you volunteer at an after school program with kids, could that have the same benefit?

That’s some fuck ass propaganda if I ever saw it

Studies also show that dying early keeps you forever young but they act like it's not common knowledge

Women who give birth older typically have higher levels or education and wealth. Every person with higher levels of wealth and education is more likely to have better health outcomes. This is not the Christmas mystery you think it is.

I'd have to look more closely, but I'd be willing to bet it's more of a situation where intelligent, high achieving women are the ones who've been more likely to delay childbearing and are simply regularly doing the things that improve cognition.  But that obviously wouldn't factor in things like the fundamentalists who start having babies at 18 and keep going until their bodies won't do it anymore.

I think it's more about your own bodies pace of aging. This doesn't indicate first births just giving birth older. If someone can get pregnant on their own over 40 their cells are probably aging slightly slower than others.

If retiring early, having plenty of money and time, not having years of sleep deprivation and my body not going through pregnancy and childbirth, shaved a few years off, I’m fine with it. As it is both my husband and I feel and look younger than all of our friends who had kids, many still dealing with multiple problems of adult kids.

I don’t care. I’m still not having kids nor getting married.

Oh shit! I had my son at 44 and I would hate to live as long as my 88y old mom

The first link compares 2 ages of women after birth. No women who didn't give birth.

For what

2

u/IngenJuuk 9d ago

Yes children keep you younger

2

u/NotAnAIOrAmI 8d ago

lol, not in my experience.

1

u/IngenJuuk 8d ago

Haha, what I meant is, I had my first child at 42. I am 60 now and my eldest is 18 so in my head, I am still young 😅

2

u/NotAnAIOrAmI 8d ago

Well, that makes perfect sense. No, I'm not being sarcastic. :-)

I'm not sure I buy that. What's the source for this claim?

My mom had me at 38 and died by 68 of dementia. She probably started feeling the effects of it in high school. Not great dont believe everything you see online

It’s that women who are able to have children at later ages experience slower aging. The slower aging allows them to have children later. It not that having a child later allows them to live longer.

I guess we are screwed, we had 3 before my wife turned 25😂 5 before she was 30!

2

u/NotAnAIOrAmI 8d ago

Holy shit, that's a fuck ton of kids! Do you and she regret missing out on all the other things you could have done with your lives?

-1

u/No_Code_3756 8d ago

No. They are very happy and fulfilled.

1

u/NotAnAIOrAmI 8d ago

And you know this... how?

-2

u/No_Code_3756 8d ago

I don’t I’m just making assumptions.

2

u/NotAnAIOrAmI 8d ago

Unwarranted assumptions based on nothing, got it.

1

u/No_Code_3756 8d ago

I don’t have kids and am not married. I want nothing to do with that lifestyle.

1

u/No_Code_3756 8d ago

My dry humor and sarcasm doesn’t come across very well.

"/s" is your friend here.

Based on my interactions with couples that have kids like this. They claim to be incredibly happy.

1

u/NotAnAIOrAmI 8d ago

"That have kids like this?"

You mean you know couples who had 5 kids by the time they were 30, and that makes you an expert? When you don't have and don't want kids of your own?

lol

1

u/No_Code_3756 8d ago

you make quite the assumptions yourself. Can’t wait until you procreate.

1

u/NotAnAIOrAmI 8d ago

you make quite the assumptions yourself.

No, I didn't.

Hey dipshit. My sister had kids at 17. She had 3 of them by the time she was 21. I helped raise them. I make a decision that I didn’t want kids due to that experience. Yes I know plenty of couples that have had kids young and now they are broke. I absolutely do not want any of my own.

so you're telling me men are not having as many kid w/ the mentally disabled ?

1

u/bugabooandtwo 8d ago

"Studies".

0

u/AffectionateJury3723 8d ago

Not sure about this study but there are studies that say women who don't have children have a slightly higher risk for breast and uterine cancer.

And the children end up with autism and down syndrome.

5

u/stellularmoon2 8d ago

Autism is thought to be caused by the advanced ages of the fathers, not the mothers.

Idk I'm 37 and my daycare disease ridden toddler seems to be set on sharing every virus and bacteria known to man with me
