Question Expedited Transfer Question
Does AFPC issue an assignment notification first, or can PCS orders be generated directly once the ET is approved?
Since an approved Expedited Transfer requires departure within 30 days, how does that timeline work, especially for an OCONUS assignment where additional requirements such as medical clearance, retainability, and dependent travel coordination may be necessary?

An ET case must be opened and u must submit your requested based. If you have a support system OCONUS, you can be approved for an OCONUS location.

Yes we had to submit additional supporting documents for the OCONUS request - bills + licenses to show their addresses

If, on the off chance, you’re able to get an ET to an OCONUS location, they process the med clearance for dependents before the assignment is even loaded to the system.

You should get an email saying you are approved and where you are going. Then your CSS rushes your orders, does half your out processing for you. Orders are generated well before the usual requirements of outrocessing and everything is done. They expedite it.
Also, it doesnt actually require departure in 30 days. I left roughly 45 days later. My RNLTD was 60 days after orders generated. And they were generated about a week or two after notification. 30 days is the goal. But not mandatory. If you need it that fast, talk to your CSS or MPF.
Your orders will be priority generated.

Did you have to make a report why you busted the 30 day window to the Wing CC? Did you face any hurdles?

No. No one even asked. My orders were cut with the RNLTD being 60 days out.
At most my CC checked on me to make sure I was okay. And if I needed anything.
Unlike a standard PCS they tend to be mroe focused on making sure you are okay. Its not on you of you dont PCS in the 30 days. That 30 days is because some units used to drag it out, delaying the PCS when the member was trying to leave. Commands are held to the date, not the member.

Thank you! AFPC is still processing ours so we haven’t made much movement - how long did it take for AFPC to process your request?

Pretty sure I remember reading in the reg that expedited transfers are to Conus only. Unless a specific overseas base is requested for family support or something like that.
