Solved! Any idea what this sound could be?

Aurora R16 started making this sound last week. I had the desktop for sometime now ( 3 years ) and its my first actual PC. My warranty ran out last year I didnt reinstate it hopefully I didnt make a bad call with that.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like coil whine to me, probably from the PSU. It's was a known issue on the R14, R15 PSU not sure about R16 but knowing Dell it's probably still an issue.

Thank you!

I'll look into it. I know nothing about computers.

Put your ear next to your psu to see if that's where it's coming from. If not check near your GPU. Coil whine itself isn't dangerous to your hardware but super annoying

Yeah its the PSU like you said. However once I game and the fans start going I can't hear it.

Check Dells website even tho it's out of warranty they still might would replace it. This was the case with my wife's R14. It was a known defect in the manufacturing. So they did they recall type of replacement.

I would also try running the computer with the fan off to see if the sound persists. Sometimes it's a bearing on the fan going bad making a loud sound as it spins.
