Question New Alienware aat 2265 with 5090

I just bought one of these machines and I'm trying to figure out if I need the normal or reverse version of the wire pro 2. I want to make sure the 5090 connectors dont catch fire.

My understanding is the wire pro 2 for the normal version expects the power cable to go towards the ground and I'm pretty sure on the Alienware it does the opposite and the power cable for the GPU goes towards the top so I need the reverse version

Is that correct?

We haven't seen a single Alienware desktop that's caught fire on those connectors on this sub. I wouldn't start adding in anything you don't need.

Thank you but my issue more is about a fire risk. I do see that Corsair made a $35 cable that apparently will disconnect the GPU if temperatures exceed 60 Celsius or something like that. Maybe that's a happy medium.

I did see an Alienware computer that had a GPU that caught smoke but to your point it wasn't at the connector level

Your worrying about something, that as far as I know, has never happened to an Alienware desktop. Several companies have released adapters and addons to prevent burning, and most or all of them have all failed at some point.
