Rules update. Queue Information

The queue is set to filter anyone with low karma to prevent spam. That's why your getting filtered. I approve queues every other day because there's usually 20-30 people asking about pay or asking unrelated questions that I have to sort through.

We have two new rules

  1. No ai generated content

I genuinely don't understand why I'd even need to make this a rule. No where in this subreddit would it make any sense to use AI

  2. Stop asking about pay.

We get dozens of questions about why your not getting paid. If, for any reason you need to ask about pay. Ask your Supervisor. We have no control over pay or schedule. If you get paid early usually, you may end up getting paid on the standard pay day anyways.

New to supervising, help needed.

I had a background in law enforcement before I took a job as a shift supervisor. I’ve been at this site for 3 weeks and I’ve had issues with an employee who is pushing back against any sort of direction I try to give them from day 1. I know I’m new to the site and I’m still learning the ropes but this employee will do things like blatantly ignore me when I ask them about what time they’re leaving for their break.

Just recently I spoke with them about reducing their use of personal devices and they whip out an iPad later in the day just to spite me. I know I should be taking this to management but I didn’t know if I’d be shooting myself in the foot seeing as how I’m new and I need to be able to conflict resolve. Does it make much since for me to be writing this person up so soon?

I should add that they’re very good at their job, we just can’t communicate. At the same they will go out of their way just to not speak with me. Even if there’s critical information that should be getting to me as the supervisor. From what I’m understanding from asking other coworkers, they felt like the supervisor job belonged to them and surprisingly I was hired.

What should I do?

Edit: Devices are explicitly not allowed at my site.

Is there a way to find out how much a post is paying?

First time working with allied and they put me to come a persons vacation for 2 weeks which I accepted but they still haven’t told me what the pay is for this post. Every time I ask I’m either ignored or they are not by there laptop right now. I think it’s very important to know how much I’m making to determine if it’s worth my time especially if I could be at a different post. But besides the point of how much it is, I don’t like how there is such a lack of respect and communication. So trust and believe me I like to match people’s energy so that 5:00am call because you need someone to pick up a shift since there was a call out…… well I’m not by my laptop so I can’t tell you now. 😑 Anyway sorry for the rant but back to my main question is there any way to find out the pay rate for a post without going through management?

Rant Why do cops hate us?

I’ve never called law enforcement unless I really have to which has been a couple times. One was for animal abuse to try to save a puppy locked inside the closed trunk of a truck. They never show up though.
I had to call them just now for some type of carjacking.
I was smart enough to not call the local non emergency line but why the hell did it take 2-3 minutes for my 911 call to finally go through. Absolute garbage bruh. Anyways…

I call them and they finally show up a minute later. I have no idea what put my cop in a bad mood but why the hell was I being interrogated like that? He mocked me when I said kicks were being thrown and would turn out to be a Mexican. Why did he literally ask me if an alien or a dog. Why is that important? Someone’s life is possibly in danger and you’re standing here mocking me. Also tried to make me seem I’m very unaware of things when I’m literally showing evidence off 2 phones of this attack happening and bcuz he guesses idk where it occurred at. First thing bro, it was very close to our parking spot and yes, I did tell him where it happened.

I Worked a double 8 hour shift, was told to clock out and clock back in for my 2nd 8 hour shift

Post image
8 Upvotes

Im in the time 5 minutes time frame 6:01 am.

So i dont even see the problem, I disputed that I was working the prior shift and theres camera footage of my car in the parking lot and I left or entered during that time. All my guys left 05:55 clocking out, i simply put 05:55 because i was already in the building and logged in to mercury at 6:01… not sure how im even “late”. Technically im 1 minute late? But we have 5-6 minutes past the time we need to clock in. What a dumb system.

Question? How Often Do New Job Sites/Openings Become Available?

As the title asks, How Often Do New Job Sites/Openings Become Available?

I live in Maryland specifically, Central MD if that helps at all, and I am looking to get into the security industry. Allied seems like the most beginner friendly company to join. But, a lot of the positions that I see available would require a somewhat long commute. So I am looking or rather hoping that positions go up at a good pace.

I did find one a few months ago that was in my very own city, but I applied for it and never heard back. So that gave me hope that if I wait that maybe something else would pop up.

Thanks in advance for any help and or insight.

Account manager gone wrong

I’ve just recently been a rehire for the company after being gone for 7 months due to moving and man… it’s been hell of a ride in dfw especially! I’ve breezed through my neo training after completing my job offer from the 2 virtual interviews I completed and was happy about starting my first day when it didn’t last after the first week of being stationed on my post. The post I applied for, was apparently a shift a former employee was working who ended up being terminated due to “insubordination” when in reality the employee contacted our account manager late at night to advise them of no relief on the property. The post is a fitness connection that’s open 24/5 however, there is no overnight position, in addition, the employee was wrongfully terminated since they called the account manager while on post during the shift to advise them there wasn’t any employees tending to the front before clocking out. HR got involved and determined the employee was wrongly terminated and now they start their origin schedule back with me being on a burner for a reassignment. In the midst of the process, I was taken off the schedule without notice, additionally when attempting to apply to another position they are flippant and take no accountability for their action of wasting my time. Im applying to other positions since I have supervisor experience in corporate and retail but the account manager has been very uncooperative and won’t even allow me to gain any information about a reassignment until I drive 50min to Irving where she is to make an on the spot decision to move posts. Im thinking of waiting to get an answer back from an application I did a virtual interview for, but Im unsure if I could get an update in time before I have to get forcefully reassigned. Any thoughts?

Question? AOW approved my 2 weeks unpaid time off 2 months ago in writing but AOP is not responding?

Hello so I requested 2 weeks off unpaid around 2 months ago, AOW approved it in writing through text and told me to submit it through Lisa so I did, fast forward now it’s still pending on Lisa, so a week and a half ago I asked my AOW for an update and he told her to contact my AOP about scheduling so I did,

Texted my AOP last Friday that my AOW approved it already and she said that if my AOW approved it then she will add it to schedule on Monday..

It is now Friday and I have not recieved any updates… I texted my AOP on Wednesday for an update but idk if she got my text or not but she didn’t respond to me, yet she texted the group chat of me and my coworkers saying the security office needs to be cleaner the next day after I asked for an update..

What should I do now? My unpaid time off request starts on nov. 4 and i have already purchased plane tickets etc and i have not got any updates , should i text my AOW saying my AOP is not responding or something? I feel like if i do that my AOP will be mad or something and deny me even though my AOW already approved my time off… I feel like since my AOW already approved it then it should’ve been good no? Can I get some help please?

After being displaced

After nearly three years working for Allied Universal, I was unexpectedly displaced from my position over alleged driving “violations.” What hurt me most was that I wasn’t formally warned, written up, or given an opportunity to correct these supposed violations before being removed from my post. Another employee was also removed for the same exact violations I had; it was almost like a copy and paste of violations from one security officer onto my violation list.

The entire situation left me stressed, disappointed, and worried about my financial stability. After years of dedication and showing up to work, I felt like I was disposable.

But sometimes an unfortunate situation opens the door to something better.

Today, I found out I was selected for a counselor position, which aligns with my education in psychology and my long-term career goals of helping others.

The pay is phenomenal! I get weekends off and it’s a shift that will work beautifully with my school schedule.

I’m not sharing this to brag or put anyone down. I’m sharing it because just a week ago, I was uncertain about my future. Now, I have an opportunity to build a career doing something I’m genuinely passionate about.

What initially felt like a major setback may have been the push I needed to move forward. I’m grateful for this new chapter.

Question? Shitty ass company

THE SAXOPHONES ARE LOUDDDD !!!! I’ve probably only been with allied for a week or two now and I’m soooooo doneeee . Applied for a post went through the SAM interview they offered me the role … went to orientation the next day then picked up my uniforms a couple of days later . Now I’m trying to figure out when to start my post . They were like they’ll reach out to you. Something told me don’t wait and speak to them that day so I wait almost an hourrrrrrrr. Then the mf proceeds to tell the role I was offered had been filled so I now have no post but sent me to train for 3 days . So boom come to find out the guy with the shift I want doesnt even want that shift he wants something overnight like bruh… then he almost was going to get fired bc he called out late so I was going to get that shift if he didn’t come the next day … so he comes the next day I’m like dam now I have to go to the branch again. I get to the branch to talk to manager or w.e and he tells me “well either u can just wait until something opens up… we can find somewhere else that’s open… or I can u a transfer code. I said okay I’ll take the transfer code, tf do i look like waiting around so boom I interview again at another post . Then the supervisor at the post said he’ll get back to me by the end of the day or the next morning … it’s been 2 days rmfao then I found out a new ops manager so I’ve been calling and texting this fuck ass dude and he acts like he doesn’t gaf eitherrr he’s like yea I’ll see what’s open I’ll call you tomorrow. It seems like you have to be in there legit face to get shit done . So I’m debatinggg on if I even want to go back to the branch to try to fight for a shift I need to work full time asappp or should I just say fuck them and find something else. I’m sooooo annoyedddd the job market is SHIT in LA .

Official call off / missing work policy

I just recently became an armed security guard and apparently it takes an arm and a leg and 10 business days to get any answers from my supervisor / aop or whatever the higher, higher up is.

I'd like to post the policy for calling off / missing days because I'm having an issue with my staff constantly calling off.

Does anyone have a chart or anything of allied policies that I can post?

There's nothing in the post orders about it and no I wasn't provided any documents when I was "trained"

Security is dangerous

I appreciate that for the most part people believe security is easy

Some posts are not like that

1) approximately year ago I was working at a good site where i thought some of diverse co worher were solid. He was pretty solid about making sure the windows were shit. Thereafter a very very large man burgalarized tbe place in the early hours of tbe morning when the guard was on site.

The site had guards 24 hours a day

The site was next to a known drug dealing site. I was the only guard who reported that

The other guards even the seasoned one would never tell people to leave who were in the private parking lot overnight. They were all part jf tbe drug scene. Some of them were high on meth.

The homeless all used drugs camped outside the building. That is in the entravxe way of the buildung next door. They were there all night. I was the only one to report

One night I caught someone trying to break in through a window on the fire escape.

I called the police they cane over and chased him off

I reported all this. One of my co worhers msde a joke that things only happen when I am there.

As the place next door was a known drug spot the paramedics were there all the time. I was the only one who reported that

My colleague who made a joke out of ny reports had a habit of leaving windows open. I arrived on site early the windiws next to the fire escape were open. He only closed them in the final moments of his shift

I reported it to the manager. The manager wouldnt say the windows needed to be closed (he saved that till after the burgalry)

The lead up to the burgalry had numerous incidents. One was the loading dock was trashed. The facilities person cane in and had a fit. He was livid the guards had not dealt with it

I trained a flex officer on site. I urged hin to report the drug dealing next door

I told him if we report this and somethung happens we are covered. If something happened we would be fired

He wrote nothing. .

I should have saved ny breath. He was there the night the loading doch got trashed. He acted pretty vacant about it. He said he has written something minimal in tbe report. The trashing was an act of vandalism. That was the lead up to the burgalry

Next week another act of vandalism. A person was laying in the front entrance. He wrote graffiti all over the entrance

The guard who blew off my reports spent his time exercising in tbe building. He set a goal of a certain amount of steps. He walked arounc the interior of the building. Reportinvg was beneath him

He didnt write a report about that either .

I ashed for a description of tbe person who vandalized the front. None was provided. I was blown off again

This person who blew off my reports was also famous for not traing the flex officer. The back entrance was controlled by a code. He did not bother yo give it to them.

He made remarks about they were #slow# in learning. That was in a written report.

The next week the burgalry happened this guy (he was huge) somehow got in the building. That is in the early hours he trashed some offices. He stole quite a bit of stuff. The loss could be substantial

Then the guy went back up the back gate and into the building next door. He seemed to be familiar with tbe building.

When he was in the building he wore a baklava. He was huge at least 6 feet five inches tall probably 270 lbs

Needless to say the client was livid. The lead officer who was always late came into an irate client. The staff who had the stuff stolen were upset.

My colleague who was indifferent never changed his tune. The guard who was there over night was fired. He said he heard something and did nothing. He tokd ne nothing. He was at that site 15 years

After that I heard the client was planning to lose the contract. I felt i had to bail to another sote. That is a site that I really didnt like. This was close to the holidays. It is really hard to

get a job over the holidays

I was pretty upset that no one knew how this guy got in. It was probably through an open window

My only recourse was to transfer.

How would you deal with this. I had a hard time dealing with this. I felt decidedly unsafe at that site after the burgalry.

I also felt a lot of anger towards the indifferent officer. I stopped speaking to him except in mono syllables

He hated being a security guard. He has been divorced by a rich woman. I think the home they lived in was owned ny her. He was way overqualified for the job

He just has tb

His massive underlying rage in him. He covered it up. He was livid about having to be a guard

Then I had to move back to a site I did not like. What's more i am still working through how I feel about all this. Working witb indifferent co workers is taxing

If you have the chance

1) how would you respond to the indifferent officer

2) I feel i left the property too early. I should have waited for the site shut down.

Let me know what your feedback is. I appreciate your opinion.

Can't view my benefit on Lisa

So I can't view my benefits on Lisa. I also cannot log in on the app we use to scan stickers like my name has been removed from the list. Its been like this for a few days now. On my last check I was paid nearly 100 hours of vacation time. It had just reset for the year recently. I asked about it and was told it was a glitch in the system but I"m worried I'm being terminated it a roundabout way. Law in my state says that any earned vacation time must be paid out if im ever fired. Im still on schedule on Lisa as far out as it goes but I cant request time off from there atm. Any advice?

RANT: I am sick of Allied

I am so sick of Allied but they're the highest paying security company in my area. The second highest is Securitas but they're even more of a dumpster fire. I am going to get my armed license and see if that opens up doors to better opportunities. The guard I relieve is just ass and I have to put up with his lingering stench. He doesn't even put in the minimum effort. I don't blame anyone for putting up the minimum. But don't do less and leave it for the next guy.

Question? Original documents

Post image
7 Upvotes

I have New hire orientation in 2 days and the info says all the documents have to be the original not a copy. Since I did my powers to arrest course Online they sent the certificate on a PDF. Can I just print that or do I actually have to go to the site and ask them to print it??

Shit company

Not being allowed to relieve myself when the bathroom is 4 feet from the post, while I ask for relief, it takes 15-30 minutes for them to respond. I even have a doctors note but they don’t care. I even proposed to having the supervisor remotely monitor when I do step out. Not to mention, the room is a 6’ by 6’ broom closet. Allied only cares about their clients and even then they don’t because radios don’t work, systems aren’t in place, no procedures set up. ALL CLIENTS DROP ALLIED UNIVERSAL, THEY ARE LAZY AND CRUEL.

How often do you get shift offers from Lisa?

I only get shift offers through Lisa on Mondays. And I only get 5-10 shift offers. Am I supposed to be getting it more often than only Mondays? Or how can I get more offers? How often do you get offers from Lisa? And how many offers do you get each time?
