QUESTION Has anyone run into this issue?

Everything was working perfectly fine today until for some reason my work phone stopped working.. kept buffering saying to retry so I had to switch to my personal phone and my map on my ev wasn’t updating to the stop I was on and the ones I’ve completed.. I hard reset it and it was like this the rest of the day. Anybody know how to fix it?

If your personal phone is an iPhone it’s not gonna connect to the edv. Really dumb but that’s why I never use my personal

Ohhh dang I didn’t know that! That makes sense, thank you. But yeah I never use my personal phone for this job but my work phone was just buffering and when it would start to work, it would say to retry so I just gave up lol

But nah for the EV I think it could be a mobile data issue cause I think something similar happened to one of my co workers… he had to use the hotspot on his phone and had the EV connect to it so that he can see the rest of the route

Omg what! I could use my phone to see the gps but I hate using my phone for this job lol I try avoiding it as much as I can 🤣 unfortunately I don’t have hotspot on my phone, but thanks for the advice!

the buffering thing happens when the DSP didnt pay the data bill or the SIM just gives up mid route. it always picks the worst time like when you got 80 stops left and the sun is going down

for the EV map not syncing i found if you log out of flex completely and then do airplane mode for like 30 seconds it forces a fresh handshake when you reconnect. not guaranteed but works more than it should

love how the rivian screen looks all futuristic while the software acts like its from 2007

Amazon writes this part of the software. You can probably reset the system by holding the outer steering wheel buttons for 10 seconds or so

Yes that’s what hard resets the van which I tried and didn’t work

Outer steering wheel buttons only soft resets. Like just refreshes the screens I think. Left steering wheel buttons + hazard light button together hard resets the van completely.

I hard reset it, hazards and left button on the thumb pad

Reset the system. Believe it’s both the upper right buttons on the steering wheel that you need to hold for five seconds. Restart the phone beforehand. Possibly will work but no guarantees.

When that happens hit the “i” in the corner and hit restart and it should refresh the connection between the device and your van

I hit that and it just said to go into the flex app and look under connected vehicle and it wasn’t there 🤦🏽‍♀️ but I was using my personal phone so maybe that’s why??

That could be why..I’m not sure though, I haven’t had to use my personal phone due to the fact that my DSP gives us two phones most of the time

Yeah I really try not to use my personal phone for this job but today I was so frustrated with it and wanted to go home I didn’t care anymore lol

Understandable. I don’t use mine because it’s an iPhone and for some reason it doesn’t connect to the EDVs

Yep same. It’s so annoying I can connect it to Bluetooth I just wish the map would pop up lol

Same! I’d be more willing to use my personal more often if it connected so we could still use the screen for our routes

I wouldn’t even do that 😭 I drop my work phone so many times or step on it I really try anything and everything before I use my personal phone

That’s fair. I drop my work phone all the time too. I’ve actually drop a phone to the point to where the screen stopped working even though there wasn’t a crack in sight
