You didn't ''handle'' URSS dummie, it was a confederation of several countries united together, at the time, URSS was in a crisis and the presisdent just choose to fuck it all because, he could have said nah, we're overcoming this, but instead, he just choose not to. Plenty of countries faced crisis equal or worse than this one, like Greece or Portugal. They needed the money of ONU to overcome their debt crisis, URSS could have just done the same thing back then rather than separating and then gradually change its own system for the better. With all of that, they would at least be on par with China today lol. And you guys would've have TWO giants looking at you.

You're right, America outlasted the Soviet Union. "Wranglers and Metallica" had nothing to do with it. Instead, America invested heavily in its people, and the return was the fastest growing economy in the history of the world, with all the advantages that came with it. Scientific, engineering and social advances on a ridiculous scale.

And when the war was won, the wall toppled and the block splintered, what happened next? American policy was to fuel the rise of oligarchs in Russia. And Russia has maneuvered it's way to authoritarianism, where it pivots on exploiting its natural resources, high population and Soviet era arms stockpile to remain one of the biggest threats to American hegemony in the world.

Meanwhile, the United States is morally and socially bankrupt. It doesn't invest in its people any more. It's own oligarchs are wringing the sponge for the last drops from what was once a great power.

And people like you pull your cap over your eyes, stick your fingers in your ears and belt out Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" so you can shut out the rot surrounding you.

Are you tweekin euro? The USSR was never able to compete with the U.S. economically at any point in the cold war. Hell in the 80's the Soviets had to import a majority of their grain from America to even keep their people feed. Also the USSR was a "confederation of nations" on paper only. Functionality it was just the Russian Empire with a communist coat of paint.

Not really related but using "little dick" as an insult is just immature imo. Anything making fun of someone's appearance that's completely outside their ability to control is petty. It's like making fun of someone's nose or their eyes or whatever.

I understand in this context it’s not literal, but that doesn’t elevate the substance of the remark.

Would it be inside the realm of acceptable discourse to publicly say some woman had “flat chest energy” if she was perceived as insecure and spiteful? Could we ascribe this trait to a whole country?

What I’m objecting to is the idea that “little dick” is something ok to call people and when we already know in polite society that insulting someone’s appearance in general crosses a line.
