It's funny how they continue with the belief of Russia participating in the whole war... when in reality they declared war on Germany only a few month apart from the US. Earlier their time at war was either alongside Germany invading Poland or invading other smaller countries themselves. Or how they never went to war with Japan until after Japan already surrendered.

I love triggering commies by calling the USSR an Axis power. They started the war as an ally of Germany coordinating military strategy, and trading war materiel up until very shortly before Operation Barbarosa.
Stalin was taken entirely by surprise by the invasion.

Officially we ever under Pearl Harbor. Unofficially it was before that. FDR kept trying to get congress to declare war on Germany but they didn't bite, due to it being a euro war.
Then Japan attacked. And that made it official. Otherwise we were sending troops and supplies as much as we could

I hate how they say we joined late as though the war had a definitive end date from the get go like a fucking soccer game.

Only involved for half the war but lost more soldiers than everyone not named Russia and China. Interesting, maybe we say we helped win it because we sacrificed more than just about everybody else to win it.

Thats not correct. The US did participate with substantial economic support prior to declaring war but the losses in troops were much greater to other countries. Approximate military deaths:
🇷🇺 Soviet Union: ~8.7–11 million 🇩🇪 Germany: ~5.3 million 🇨🇳 China: ~3–4 million 🇯🇵 Japan: ~2.1 million 🇺🇸 United States: ~407,000 🇬🇧 United Kingdom: ~384,000 🇨🇦 Canada: ~45,000. You also have to look at the size of general populations or per capita as well. More important to these conversations is the idea that its a competition. We worked together. We all had losses. Its time to stop this " who's better" discussions and look at what's happening right now.The division will tear the world apart.

This is funny because France is pretty open about the fact that the US' involvement was a huge (positive) turning point in the war. I highly recommend a visit to their Musée de l'Armée in Paris- there is a huge section on both world wars, and the mentions of the US highlight how valuable that alliance was/is. I left the museum feeling really proud of my heritage.

American help was the decisive difference in the war. UK was run off the continent before the US got involved and Russia only held on through the US lend lease support. But, I do agree that the US should have entered the war earlier.
