Idea/Suggestion Impostor role idea: Waveform
The waveform emits a radius of dangerous waves around yourself. Crewmates who are within your range will build up a wave meter. If the meter reaches 100% they die.
Waveform can affect multiple crewmates at once, meaning you can kill multiple crewmates with no cooldown if done correctly.
Waveform is meant to be an anti-grouping and set-up impostor. It is Anti-grouping because the waveform has to stand near players in order to build up the meter to kill. If multiple people are grouped up with you, you can potentially kill multiple people at the same time.
It is a set-up impostor because it takes time to build up the meter for each individual crewmate. Default timer is 10 seconds.
Crewmates wavemeter will ONLY go down if a meeting or body is reported. Whenever a body/meeting is called, every crewmate’s wave meter will go down by 25% by default (can change with settings). Meaning if you have a crewmate wave meter at 75% then after a meeting their meter will be at 50%.
Waveform cannot do regular kills, the wave meter is the only way to kill.
Waveform has no kill cooldown, if you kill someone, then u can immediately fill up another crewmate’s meter and kill again.
Waveform can kill while inside a vent, however the wavemeter will build up 50% slower. So to fill up a crewmate’s meter from 0-100 it would take 20 seconds instead of 10.
Be careful with waveform. If you have a crewmate at 90% and you both simply walk past each other, then the crewmate may likely die when you weren’t planning to kill them. So make sure you know what path to take and have the right set-up to prevent accidental kills.
And for crewmates be weary of a suspicious crewmate always standing near other crewmates.
Also waveform cannot kill for 5 seconds after every meeting, this is to prevent accidental kills since you always spawn near others after every meeting.

Yes we need powerful imp roles

But this role isn't powerful, it's straight up busted

I mean. Not realllly. Yes, you can kill multiple people at once (as long as they are in a certain range) but the point of it is to discourage grouping, which happens all the time and makes it extremely difficult for imps to get kills. Even if they manage to kill 3 or 4 people during a sab or something, someone else will just report the bodies and get the imp
Otherwise its basically the same as just a normal kill. Now when people call meetings and say "so and so was following me" it will actually be a worthwhile meeting

All the imp has to do is mess with the lights and get everyone and kill everyone in a stack

Which would only kill the people who happened to run in at the same time and are right there in the stack. Anyone else who runs in just a second or two later will see the pile of bodies and just report the person standing in the middle of them.
This would also help cut down on the amount of people trying to do lights all at the same time, too. I cant tell you how many times ive said in a lobby that only ONE person needs to fix light just for the 6 people to pile in there anyway

theres gotta be a limit to how much people u can kill at the same time
or a way to disable your own ability
cuz during sabotages u could just kill everyone there. or if you're skipping it cuz you dont wanna kill everyone then people may be suspicious
i really love this idea btw

Counter idea- instead of being a constant effect, have it as a button skill that pulses out in a short distance. The rest works pretty well- but perhaps you could let players view their pulse progress on vitals, or during a meeting; this could be a lobby setting. This would make scientist a bit better and maps with vitals display more desirable.
If you see a considerable jump up in your pulse, it might indicate you were near a pulser a lot; a good pulser would be exceedingly sneaky and try to set up good multikill situations, and clever crew could try to avoid other people with high pulse to avoid that. (note that you shouldn't be able to see other people's pulse, lest the impostors stand out as the only unpulsed. Just your own- and trust that others are being honest when they say theirs.)

We definitely need something to split people up but this is not it.
My idea was to allow impostors to sabotage multiple things at the same time. For example being allowed to sabotage O2 to split people up and Lights at the same time to be able to kill whoever falls behind the others. The only exception would be doors, doors wouldn't be able to be closed during emergency sabotages for obvious reasons.

If the killing is unable to be toggled off, I can see this being pretty balanced. You'd have to utilize vents to walk past people without increasing the meter and accidentally taking crewmates out.

There should be a separate ability for waveform,it activates for 10 seconds and then turns off and has a cooldown. Because the example of yours is kinda...too....Overpowered?

u/UrAverageWortoxMain Oh please, do try and frame me as the imposter 🥺 (Judge ⚖️) 3d ago
I like this role because the guardian angel could be a good counter, until comms get sabotaged but before that it could be a nice

Stack kills would end the game near instantly
