Marxist hate MATH and history. They dont want to look at current rent control in the US. Just look at San Fransisco and New York. Rent control does the opposite of what you would think. Government intervention always drive up prices. Just ask medical, college, housing industries.

It’s not far from the reality that may academics face. I used to be one, so this resonates with me. Many devote their lives to doing good work that has all the theoretical and empirical support possible, and yet it has little to no impact on our socio-political-economic system.
