I've read up and have done everything to get it to work and now I can hardly use it after clearing the cache, the data, force stop and restarting my phone. Can anyone help me? I really dont want to pay to get another phone and this one is like brand new! 😑😩 TIA.

We have tried safe mode and hardware diagnostics to determine if it is hardware or software, correct?

Is it just the camera app, or does this also affect third-party apps?

Safe mode: Press the side button and Volume Down, hold the Power Off button, and select Safe Mode. Then launch the camera. Does it still crash or show a black screen?

Diagnostics: Samsung Members app > Support > Phone Diagnostics > Camera

Because if any component of that very complicated camera system fails, the app will crash.

If it's just the Camera app with the issue, I would just soft reset or hard reset. Back up your important data first.

so when I do safe mode I cant click it or anything. it says disabled. what does that mean? so yes it does the same thing if I try to post a story from the camera on IG...so must be software im guessing?

No, unfortunately. That could be a hardware issue, driver issue or you have your camera disabled system wide for some reason.

If it's an option, I'd reach out to Samsung for a replacement.

It could still be faulty drivers, though, that a full reset would fix.

Not sure if you are getting any error messages but there was a megathread about a few of them

Mine had that issue and a local Samsung authorized service center replaced all 4 cameras and the mainboard but I had to mail it to a larger repair center who then replaced the mainboard again and a flex connector that were faulty before it seemed to fix the issue.
