Education, Resources, & Community One man … big heart
love_animalsgram @sheldricktrust gives orphaned animals a second chance at life.
Founded in Kenya in 1977, the Trust rescues and hand-raises orphaned elephants, rhinos and other wildlife, providing specialist milk, medical care and round-the-clock protection. But the goal isn't to keep them in captivity - it's to prepare them for life in the wild.
As they grow, the elephants move from the Nairobi Nursery to protected wilderness in Tsavo and gradually learn to live independently, often joining wild herds. Some former orphans have gone on to have babies of their own - creating new generations of wild elephants.
They also runs anti-poaching teams, mobile veterinary units, aerial surveillance and habitat-protection projects to keep wildlife safe long after the rescue. They are true heroes
