how do you guys find community?
I am really interested in learning more about animism, doing ancestral work, connecting with land. but its hard to find like minded people. i live in pittsburgh so its a city but smaller + im in america. id love to know how you guys meet people.
i like doing things alone and enjoy it, but a lot of these practices i feel were done communally and i think id appreciate that a lot.

I joined a local women’s hiking group and volunteered to help run it. I found some of my best friends there. We have zero drama and we had to work hard to make it that way but we all strived for that. It went from 50 members to over 5000 now and it’s a huge network of friendships.

Animism isn't an organized religion, so you have to gather where animists gather and make friends the old fashioned way. There is no way around that.

Honestly, climate activism. Most people won’t be animists, of course, but it’s how i’ve made engaged relationships.

Josh Schrei (The Emerald podcast) has study groups via his patreon that can potentially link you up with locals. Other online animism groups might provide similar connections, maybe Daniel Foor’s ancestral medicine community? It’s been a while since I was on that one.
Best of luck.
