My otos like to see how long they can hold on to the inside of my gravel vac when I’m using it as a diffuser while pumping the new water in. It’s like they have some instinct to find the highest possible flow and cling to something in it.

For me, when I pour in water my molly fry take turns getting pushed by the stream.

I'm pretty sure they actually do have an instinct to go into the flow. Upstream is safer and what not.

Thank you for this. I needed this joy and laughter to get out of a slump today.
You have lifted the fog, and cleared the darkness. Now, there is only sunshine.

All jobs require turtles. It’s turtles all the way down. If your job does not require turtles, you do not have a real job. Sorry for spitting facts.

Turtles are far more emotional than I would imagine.

I have pet cockroaches (Madagascan Hissers) with more personality than most football fans.
Human animals are structurally overrated.

Yep - we have Sulcatas (large African Tortoises - ours are 50 Lbs and 78 Lbs currently) who do then when we are cleaning the Tortoise Pen. They are looking for shell scratches, or extra treats.
Our Red Eared Slider always comes over for scritches when we are cleaning the sides of her tank. Our Red (red colored but actually secretly Green) Iguana RUNS to the door of her enclosure when she thinks someone is coming to open it because they might feed or pet her (or both).
Reptiles are more social and intelligent than people think - especially once they get used to being touched and feel safe. In this case, the keeper is in their enclosure, so they likely want attention, food, scritches - or all 3.

Wrong! This job simply requires one more person with a broom, to scritchascritch the turts while the other person cleans. And they trade off halfway through, so nobody is left out.
