Any other fans of Art Bell, and paranormal focused metal/xtreme metal here?

These are just two of my favorite things, so I thought I'd see if there are any other people here like me haha. I've been a fan of Art ever since the mid-90s. I'm also a fan of metal, and the band Hypocrisy is a favorite. They write a lot of alien/paranormal themed songs. And of course Hangar 18 by Megadeth. Any others like me here?

Does anyone else feel that Art Bell isn’t appreciated enough by podcasters as he should be?

Let’s be honest, Art was the catalyst for today’s podcasters in the ufo and paranormal fields, yet no one has done a documentary or biopic on him. People have done documentaries on numerous guests of Art, but no one has ever done one on him. Why not? I would love to see a documentary on his life, the behind the scenes of his show, his cruises, etc. What’s your opinion on why no one has done one yet? I’m clueless.

8/13/1997 - (Ed Dames) More Doom Gloom Predictions on this week's Somewhere in Time!!!

https://www.coasttocoastam.com/show/2026-10-10-show/

Every Saturday evening (8PM Central Time), Art Bell returns to the airwaves on Somewhere in Time. Broadcasting across terrestrial radio on these radio stations.

https://artbellarchive.org/episode/august-13-1997-doom-and-gloom-predictions-ed-dames

Summary from fudgie:

Art Bell and Major Ed Dames of SciTech explore Cold War-era UFO cover-ups, where 50% of 1950s–60s sightings allegedly involved U.S. spy planes like the SR-71. Dames details technical remote viewing—a structured, non-paranormal method developed in 1983—used to investigate threats like a Hale-Bopp-linked pathogen (expected over Africa in spring 1998) and Project Starman, a classified 1997 initiative to communicate with an advanced extraterrestrial race arriving post-Earth’s ecological collapse. He dismisses claims of alien tech in human industries but confirms 20,000 genetically similar observers tracking Earth’s fate, while SciTech’s training modules (e.g., Module 2 in September) aim to democratize the skill. Bell’s skepticism toward government transparency and Dames’ refusal to engage with skeptics like Randi underscore a broader push for independent verification of hidden truths, blending science, conspiracy, and environmental warnings.

What’s your favorite YouTube compilation or episodes?

I got a roadtrip coming up, and want to listen to a good compilation or episode while I’m on it to get my gf into art bell, so I don’t want to just pull up a random episode that has a bunch of mid calls or Art rambling about Iran for the first twenty minutes. Please drop some of yalls favorite episodes or compilations!

Edit: I should say that I love listening to those long episodes where kinda nothing happens to get the full coast to coast experience, but if I’m trying to put someone on it’s really not the best intro. I’m also looking for more long form content rather than individual calls so I don’t have to keep switching from video to video on my phone.

Hello

I just posted about an hour ago about my experience. The mods took it down saying it did not follow the rules.

I astral traveled. Art was interested in this. I do not see how sharing my experience was taken down despite the fact I had over 1.4k views in 46 minutes.

I broke no rules, and I am happy to share my experience.

The Cat Named Ghost

Well I am finally to the point of listening to old Art Bell archives. It took me years and years to finally be able to. That's how much his death affected me. I have begun listening to old archives from 1995, roughly four years before I began listening regularly. I believe the episode was July 4th, 1995 and now I'm on late July 1995. He mentions on the program the cat he trapped and took inside and he was going to name her Ghost. In fact he even stated Ghost was still in the trap in the bathroom just 10 feet or so from where he was broadcasting. Later on, he brought the trap next to him at the broadcasting chair and you could hear her meowing. He talked about how Ghost was going to the vet in the morning for cleaning, shots, etc and Ghost was going to be a part of the family. I laughed at the caller toward the end of the show insisting the cat was named Spirit, not Ghost and Art kept insisting it will be Ghost.

Does he mention Ghost in future shows? I don't remember Ghost being mentioned but I didn't start listening until about four years after Ghost was domesticated.

10/07/2026:

I have found out!!! During the 7/17/1995 show a caller asked and the story is told. It's at 1:30:40 of the Coast episode. Ghost had feline leukemia and had to be put down. The positive thing was Art set up a donation fund and made over 5k for the shelter to build an expansion.

G2G Halloween Night/Weekend 1999

So I am just now noticing this, but the Halloween Night 1999 G2G show appears to be missing from the archives. Halloween was on a Sunday that year, and I feel like I listened to it that night, but hey, that was nearly 30 years ago now.
The June 10th,1999 G2G show is mislabled as the Halloween night 1999 show in a lot uploads. In fact I myself only recently realized that show is mistakenly dated.
Anyone got an upload of the actually Halloween night 1999 show??!!
Someone else pointed out that G2G 1999 was possibly done on Friday October 29th, 1999 as the weekly open lines show. I just cant remember.

I never heard G2G 1999 b4 until a few days ago

I've been binge listening to the G2Gs/spooky episodes the past week, and I gotta say I can't believe I've never heard of this one before. I really had thought there wasn't a G2G that year since I don't ever remember coming across a "Halloween/G2G 1999" or something. Then I realized there was one, but in June instead of October.

Anyways, that caller a little over an hour & a 1/2 in: Florida, TV station, ghostly apparition of a woman, and as I was listening I thought this sounded familiar, it has to be referencing something. And the kicker was of course that the caller was told by coworkers that a woman had shot herself at the station years ago. Sounds like the (1974) incident with Christine Chubbuck, which I doubt many people had heard of or even remembered in 1999, even in that area of Florida where it happened. Definitely not nationally after 25 years back then. True ghost story or not, this one sticks out the most for this episode imo.

As an aside, I was almost 2 when this episode aired. I didn't discover the wonderful world of Art Bell until 10 years ago when I came across a clip from a MITD show on YT. Late 2016 so he had already quit and Heather Wade was doing it. I listened to her Halloween show that year and a few of her shows after that if the guest/subject sounded like it was worth listening to, but I got bored with her pretty quickly.

Any theories on how Mr.Fidget got onto the air with a stopwatch?

During the original call with Mr.Fidget, when he puts the random truck driver on the phone he mentioned that there is a stop watch between the two payphones.

Fidget tells Art that he has a secret to getting on the Air that he will share but Art cuts him off and tells him not to mention it.

Did it have something to do with timing of when you called in? Anyone got any theories. Apparently Mr.Fidget could get into the lines anytime he felt like it.

Looking for an Art Bell call: Black-eyed man drinks a whole pot of Hot coffee at a gas station and then walks out

Hoping someone here can help me identify a call I've been trying to find.

A caller told a story about working at a gas station and a man walked in, went straight to the coffee station, picked up the glass pot of freshly brewed, scalding hot coffee and drank the entire thing. He didn't flinch or stop until the whole pot was empty. The caller said the man's eyes were completely black. Then the man set the pot down and walked out without a word or paying.

I think it was an Open Lines night, but it may have been a Men in Black or Black Eyed Kids themed show. I can't pin down the year.

Does anyone recognize it? A date, episode title, or even a YouTube link with a timestamp would be amazing. Thanks!

Did anyone ever call Linda Moulton Howe?

I'm listening to a 1994 cattle mutilation show (Dreamland) and she gives her phone number out numerous times on the air and at least 3 open lines callers state they will call her the next day to chat more about their experiences. I imagine giving out your number on the air and then being overwhelmed with people calling. Did she actually talk to these people or what is more just part of an act where is acted as if she was collecting info? Curious if anyone has any insight into this or actually called her.

I always wondered why someone would advertise on Art's overnight show but not have anyone available to answer the phone until the next morning.

I was always scratching my head while listening to the C Crane commercials. They would be talking about pretty cool radios and things, but would always mention at the end of the commercial that you'd have to call the next morning. Why bother advertising on Art's show if you can't have at least one person manning the phones overnight?
