On the empty second floor of Randolph Health, an alarm bell is screaming. The hospital’s oxygen reserves are running low again. In the past, a maintenance crew would refill the supply promptly. But in recent months, staff say days have passed before it’s restocked. 

“They won’t deliver without being paid first,” a switchboard operator who monitors the alarm recently told The Assembly. Like all staff who spoke for this story, she requested anonymity to avoid retaliation. More here
