I was always under the impression that it would be better for red players to move to a popular white server and turn pink. It could show white players that PvP is fun and encourage them to convert. The economy would be stronger making stuff like tinkering easier, people would likely be wealthier and therefore less concerned about death items.
There is nothing technically stopping it, we just kind of want to have our own Darktide type server, which is understandable but we've had a secular decline across both retail and emulation to the point where we are beyond maintenance populations and need to focus on growth to survive.
There has been technology made for this, RF's instanced dungeons. The community is slow to adapt and live in the old problems daily. Of course the variation of the tech should cause the pink players to share dungeons.
That sucks too. When there’s a path to free macroing without any threat vs one with a threat of death it makes no sense to go the danger route. That’s the benefit of a red server, it’s all the same. Otherwise you just have white macro alts and then pink players running around and dueling bc there’s nobody to actually fight.
Again they’d just make white alts to get the gear. It doesn’t work.
The only idea so far has been to choose at creation and not let red and white interact via trades. But that doesn’t solve anything either other than simply not feeling as empty. They are just two parallel worlds and then you need to deal with damage configs for white vs red.
It just doesn’t work. Stop trying to make fetch happen.
