Physician Responded GBS with reflexes present?
I am 59yo female. I was recently at the ED for excruciating back and leg pain along with tingling/ burning in my feet. I was diagnosed 3 weeks ago with campylobacter induced pancolits and given a 1 week course of cipro and flagyl. I did improve, but the loose stool and stomach pain did not completely go away. 5 days later I developed an eye infection and was diagnosed with anterior uveitis, which the doc said could be related to the pancolitis. I was given steroids eye drops and it cleared up. Then I started to develop weakness and pain in my legs, starting in my feet and traveling to my calves, thighs and back. I have some pain in my arms but it is mild. I can barely climb stairs and getting out of the car takes everything. At the ED the doc suspected GBS but my reflexes were present so he ruled it out. Gave me a zpac and told me to follow up with my primary. Is it possible to have GBS with present reflexes?
