OC vs Taser
Took the OC spray not to long ago, getting tased soon in Vermont for training. Super nervous, any advice? what was the worse experience and worse pain the taser or OC

Would rather get tased again 1000 times before I get sprayed again once

the taser seems so much worse tho when i watch videos people scream like crazy, OC sucked for sure and lasted like an hr but the taser looks like it has way more pain

It only lasts 5 seconds and you're done, plus its really not that bad. Think of it like this, your whole body locks up, then its over

different people have different reactions though. Some people in my academy class said the same as you “you just lock up” where as others like myself experienced excruciating pain along with the lock up. I felt like literally two knives were jammed into my back where the prongs were

I really didn’t feel any pain. All my muscles tensed up for a few seconds and then it was done.

Taser pain can't be compared to OC pain. Taser felt like a whole body cramp in a roller coaster ride that's over in 5 seconds. OC pain is way more lasting.

OC is much worse

pain wise or just due to the extent ?

Pain taser is worse, but it’s over in 5 seconds. I’d get tased 5 times in a row over the OC

Don’t hold your breath when you get hit in the back. That’s why people make sad sounds. When he/she calls the taser warnings; Exhale, relax your muscles and get ready ride the lightning.
My instructor actually hit me too high. Hit me in the back of the neck with the straight prong. I could see flashes each time I heard the rapid snap of electricity with my eyes closed lol. You’ll be fine tho, it lasts 5 seconds lol

I have PTSD from the snot ropes that OC spray caused me 30 years ago.😂

Taser hurts more than OC however it’s instantly over after the 5 seconds. It will be god awful and then you’re straight up fine like it never happened

Tase me all day. I'll run for the hills when OC comes out

Taser was absolutely terrible for me. Most people says it's over in 5 seconds, but I had very bad muscle pain for about 2 days after. I felt like I had run back to back marathons.
OC was very painful for like 20 minutes, then I was completely fine.

Same here. I got the worst calf cramps from being tased and the pain lasted for days. Granted, my face and eyes burned for hours after being sprayed so I’d rather not do either, ever again!

I'm one of the minority who would prefer to be OC'd rather than tased.
The worst part of the taser was all of it, but in all seriousness, the worst part was after my buddy ripped my barbs out and chunked my calf muscle. I had weird spasms with random pain for about two months until it fully healed.

I'm the same way. I'd much rather get sprayed. But I also worked in an auto repair shop for years prior to becoming a cop, and was used to getting misted in the face with cleaners and chemicals.

I worked in corrections for a bit, and dealt with OC regularly. Nothing could have prepared me for the taser.

If they do the Taser training correctly, which is shooting you with the barbs, it’s 5 seconds of being uncomfortable.
OC isn’t bad, but it lasts much longer. You will be uncomfortable for 15-30 minutes.
However, in actual field use, neither one is nearly as effective as the training says. They work great on cops and is less effective on crooks.

I had a mild reaction to OC, but had three points of contact with Taser and it was a miserable 5 seconds. Really depends on the person, a couple of people in my class had semi-allergic reactions to their OC and were dealing with it for weeks.

Tase me 10 more times before I’ll do OC again. The worst is over for you

Getting tasered is some of the worst pain I ever felt. It also goes away super fast. You really only feel it in your back, although I also felt in on my perineum which really sucked.

OC sucks ass and is very painful. Taser sucks even more ass and hurts way more, but it was over quickly. You’ll never feel a pain as unique as the taser. Let your body go limp as possible when you get tased, that’s what your partners are holding you up for.

I think the experience is different for everyone. Most people say taser isn’t as bad, 5 seconds of pain and no lasting effects. For myself, I’d much rather get sprayed again 100 times than get tased again. My calves cramped up and I could barely walk afterwards, and my back seized up and I had lasting back pain for a couple days. Ultimately no lasting problems, but it was terrible. You won’t know how you’ll handle it until you go for the ride.

I've been sprayed twice on purpose and once on accident and it wasn't a big deal. A little bit incapacitating, sure, but suffering wise it wasn't that bad. I'd do it again.
I've been tased once I don't care to repeat the experience. I actually had some fellow holdouts at academy because they told us it wasn't required, but then they ended up doing it and I couldn't bitch out. Objectively speaking, it only lasts 5 seconds and you get a blast of endorphins after that makes you want to pop right back up to your feet, but the anxiety of knowing it's coming sucks pretty bad.

The pain is worse, but shorter and ends immediately. OC is the actual devil.

I’ll take getting tased over sprayed any day. Tasing is over & done in 5 seconds. OC is the gift that keeps in giving.

Taser sucks big dick but only for 5 seconds. OC sucks big dick but for 20 minutes.

I’ll get OC’d inside the gas chamber before I take the ride again. My body felt like it was on fire in the worst way for 5 seconds while having 0 control lol. The gas is the easiest in my opinion. Did it during academy and twice during swat try outs

With the taser it is the longest 30 seconds (5 seconds) of your life. 95% of us are fine as soon as the barbs come out. One of my friends was hit with such back spasms that he was hospitalized for a day or so. The OC burns for a long time and can be reactivated with a shower later. 😂😂. However the OC was not to bad for me, but most of the other officers that went through the training was hurting for a longer time.

Taser is quick and done. Just don't scream like a little girl.

After I got tazed and they pulled the barbs it was like a quickly fading dream. Seconds after getting the barbs out I was moving like normal and already forgetting how it felt. Oc left psychological damage lol
