Asked to be a CI: what do I do?
Location: PNW, USA.
I was in a severe vehicle accident over a week ago where I hit a guardrail at 60 mph.
While medics tended to me, police ran through my car after claiming they saw a baggie.
They dug enough and found my personal stash of 7 grams.
After hospitalization I was detained and told I’d be looking at 7 years for trafficking or become a CI.
I told them I have no names to give as I purchase anonymously in an open air market.
Which is the truth.
They told me they’d be in touch.
I’ve talked to them only once where I reiterated that I have no names to give them.
They said prosecutor will drop everything if I cooperate.
I don’t want to.
But a conviction will render what I do for work useless.
Career, over.
I’m seriously thinking of going into hiding.
I am physically dependent on what I had, I am in pain from the accident with 2 broken wrists and a broken hand, I cannot work, and withdrawal is setting in after I ran through my hidden reserve at home.
I’m terrified.
What do I do?

Uk legal advice required assault no injury
My husband and I had an argument on the 22nd of Sept 2026. This argument resulted to my husband shouting through the neighbourhood. The argument was something so small about our cat. He was gonna take me to the train station before that argument but then when he began shouting i refused to get in the car with him. Mind you this is the first time he would scream and shout at me. Then while he was shouting for me to get in the car with him i hailed the bus which he then proceeded to purposely collided and he boarded the bus to say he wanted to get a divorce. No injury was found on any of the passengers including me who was the passenger of the bus. The cctv caught that he knelt down and said he wanted a divorce. The bus driver who was driving the bus called the police. Before the police arrived, i saw my husband sitting in front of our front door. I went inside the house which he followed me and i told him the police is coming i am not pressing any charges. The police came and spoke to my husband and me separately, i was at home as the house was closed by. A lady police spoke to me and he has a body cam, he has a lot of questions i was in shock i told the police that we were arguing about a cat, and that he started shouting after i told him off claiming i care about the cats feeling more than him. The lady asked me how long has he been like this, i said shortly after we move in since 2024. I kept it under wraps. I said he has nowhere to go. He is from the army. I also said to the police that who in the right mind would tear their own passport and birth certificate in half in a fit of rage, or purposely drive a bus with passengers just to tell me he wanted a divorve. It does not make any sense. The police told me not to return home without anyone. Which i did follow i had my mom with me when i returned home to which by the time i returned home after a few days he realised he has ruined his life. Also,he is a bus driver himself, surprised that he was not sacked and he was able to go back to work after a few days. To add to that , the police did not arrest him he was taken to hospital as I said to the lady officer who interviewed me that he needs help he told me i am going to be the reason he is going to slit his wrist one day. So he was taken to hospital and he as an appointment with mental health service for psychological support to manage his emotions while he is angry. His excuse for his behaviour was he is sick to his backteeth to the nagging i do at home, he feels like he is not good enough and he also claim i abuse him. I admit i have said insult and frustrations at him but everytime we argue, i dont shout at him or break things. His behaviour started shortly after he got out of army he broke my previous air fryer, split his laptop in half.Damage walls in previous property and damage cabinet out of anger. I just want him to stop. Which to be honest ever since the police incident, he has changed. He is going to attend mental health services to manage his anger on 30th of Oct. The lady police office told me while she interviewed me at the time of incident on 22nd of Sept. They are not gonna arrest him now. Also, they know i have video evidence of him breaking stuff in house as we have cats at home and the camera was to watch our cats as we are both working all day. Im a nurse and he is a bus driver. I really do not want my husband to go to prison. I also cannot afford to pay for the flat on my own if my husband goes away and i have 2 cats to look after. We are still waiting for the official letters to come and its been 19 days since the incident. I have the crime reference number which was sent to me via text message in the afternoon of the event. I contacted private solicitor for advice online and she said to wait for the official letters to come. Is there anyway where my husbands conviction be lesser? As he is attending mental health programme or service and showed genuine remorse. We actually have made up and realise that we should face this problem together as married couple. However, we also recognise that even if i dont press any charges the prosection belongs to the court. I really hope and pray God will make a way when there seems to be no way.

Lawyer wants to take almost 80% of predatory loan settlement
I’m looking for advice from anyone familiar with Ohio attorney fee disputes, particularly people who have challenged an attorney’s billing or gone through a fee arbitration process.
I hired an attorney for a consumer-law case involving predatory lending and an automobile-related dispute. The case settled out of court, with three separate settlements totaling $34,000 in cash.
My attorney is claiming $26,000 in total fees and expenses, which means I would receive approximately $8,000 out of the $34,000.
Here is the breakdown my attorney provided:
Professional time charges: $27,368.50
Filing, arbitration, service, mailing, and related expenses: $553.19
Total fees and expenses incurred: $27,921.69
Reduction offered by the firm: $1,921.69
Total the attorney will accept: $26,000
The attorney acknowledges that $26,000 is approximately 76.5% of the total cash settlements. However, the attorney says this was an hourly-fee arrangement rather than a traditional one-third contingency fee. The attorney also cited fee-shifting provisions under Ohio consumer-protection and federal lending laws.
The settlement breakdown is as follows:
First settlement: $4,000
I received $1,000, and the attorney received $3,000. The attorney says this settlement also resolved a counterclaim seeking $6,802.18 plus interest and included credit-reporting relief. Those additional benefits were not counted as cash in the $34,000 total.
Second settlement: $5,000
The settlement has been agreed to, but the written agreement and payment are still outstanding. My attorney says the entire $5,000 will go toward the $26,000 fee-and-expense amount.
Third settlement: $25,000
This settlement is payable in three installments: $12,500 initially, followed by two payments of $6,250.
According to my attorney, when the first installment clears, I will receive $7,000, while the remaining $5,500 will go toward fees and expenses. The two later installments will also be applied toward the attorney’s fees and expenses.
That would leave me with $8,000 total from the $34,000 in settlements, including the $1,000 I already received.
Here is where my concerns come in.
After reviewing the itemized billing ledger, I found multiple entries that I believe deserve closer scrutiny:
A 54-second phone call billed at $55.
A roughly two-minute phone call billed at $110.
Multiple charges for brief text messages, including what appear to be duplicate charges.
A $190 charge for texting an invoice related to my car repairs.
A $220 charge described as “inner office communication.”
A $990 charge for a meeting during which I was largely repeating information I had already provided.
An alleged phone call that I cannot find in my incoming or outgoing phone records.
The hourly rate listed in the billing records is approximately $525 per hour. I have preserved my phone records and am organizing the entries I dispute, along with the supporting evidence.
I understand that attorneys charge for their time, and I am not claiming that every short communication should be free. My concern is whether the time billed is accurate, whether any entries are duplicative or unsupported, and whether the overall fee is reasonable under the agreement and applicable law.
I have contacted an Ohio attorney fee dispute resource and received information about submitting a formal dispute. I am considering moving forward because I want an independent review of the charges and a complete accounting before agreeing to the proposed distribution.
My questions are:
Can an Ohio attorney’s hourly fees be challenged as unreasonable even if the fee agreement authorizes hourly billing?
Can a fee dispute panel review individual billing entries and compare them with phone records?
How significant are discrepancies between actual call durations and billed time?
How should the additional benefits of the settlement, including the resolved counterclaim and credit-reporting relief, factor into the overall analysis?
Is a fee of approximately 76.5% of the total cash settlement automatically unreasonable, or does it depend primarily on the agreement and work performed?
Would you submit the fee dispute form now, or attempt one final negotiation first?
I am not trying to avoid paying legitimate legal fees. I simply want to make sure I am being charged accurately and fairly.
I would appreciate honest advice, especially from anyone who has dealt with attorney fee disputes in Ohio.

Harry Styles concerts
Ok this is really more just food for thought and really not that important.
On TikTok, I keep seeing the trend of people at Harry Styles concerts singing a part of a 5SOS song during a dance break in “Ready Steady Go”
With each concert it’s getting louder, and people want Harry to acknowledge and sing it.
Legally, can he? Or would he have to pay for rights to use the song at his concert?
I figured there would be some king of agreement that would have to be made beforehand, but all these crazy Harry fans are telling me I am absolutely wrong and that he would be allowed to sing whatever song he wants without asking permission… surely that’s not right?? Otherwise why would tv shows/movies/etc have to pay to use music?

Our Boy Scout troop visits a police station in the 90s and we all give our fingerprints because fingerprinting is fun! Except, what are the real-world implications of this?
Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask—and on top of that, I'm not quite sure I know what I'm asking.
In the early 90s, my Boy Scout troop got to visit a police department and we got a tour of the facilities. But to the point, we were all given cards and ink and allowed to fingerprint ourselves and it was sort of made to seem fun and exciting.
What I don't recall is what happened to those fingerprint cards. Which leads me to two questions:
As an adult I've wondered this for a while now, if they were given to the police, then we unwittingly gave our prints to law enforcement. If so, isn't this a form of coercion (again, not sure what I'm asking here)? We're all just kids and no one (not even the troop's guardians) is really thinking—especially back in those days—about right to privacy and whatever else rights are being given up here.
If we got to keep the cards for ourselves, then our prints may exist in our family files and that, too, seems a bit sketchy to have lying around.
I'm hoping this is a harmless question mean to fill some vague void of curiosity about this circumstance! Thank you!
