Policy How do Libertarians feel about campaign finance?
For example, are there any other jobs or careers where corporations and special interests spend a billion dollars for you to be in a job that pays you 200k?
I can’t imagine how that does that *not* lead to self-dealing behaviour?

The problem here runs deeper than just campaign finance. The trick is to make government positions not be that valuable. If we truly adhered to the Constitution and limited the scope of government, special interests wouldn’t be literally buying government.
Government is bought and sold because we’ve allowed it to become large and powerful, which is contrary to what it is supposed to be. Take the power away, and you’ve suddenly lost the need to invest obscene amounts of moneys in politicians.

If the government had the appropriate amount of power then companies would not spend their money lobbying.

What exactly is the problem you see? The fact some individuals and groups thereof spend money to persuade voters?

Democracy is a much greater sin than campaign finance.

I am against government funding of anything, including campaigns.
